GUILTY TX - Juan Jimenez, 31, abducted & murdered, Dallas, 27 April 2007

I spoke with the Dallas ME office this morning asking about these unidentified remains, just in case they were my brother. I was told that they have been tenatively identified as a person who disappeared in April. They would not tell me whether the remains were male or female.

There is an Elizabeth Gonzalez missing from Houston in April 2007. Still looking for others. Houston could be a long shot, but it's possible.

It seemed like a typical missing-person case: Man disappears. There's no trace of him for months. His family wonders what became of him.
Now the family of Juan Jimenez, who went missing in late April, is getting answers.

Authorities say two men abducted, robbed and killed Mr. Jimenez – and they were caught because one later confessed to his girlfriend out of guilt.

One of the suspects, identified as Justin Richards, last week led police to the body of Mr. Jimenez, 31.

A jury convicted appellant Charles Xavier Howard of capital murder and the trial court assessed a mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole...

Appellant, along with his friend Justin Richards and a prostitute named Rocy Williams, decided to target random Hispanic men and rob them of cash to use to buy drugs. After two unsuccessful attempted robberies of other Hispanic men, Williams lured complainant Juan Jimenez to pull his car over and she got in his front passenger seat. Appellant and Richards, posing as Williams's security, got in the back seat and Jimenez began driving. According to Richards and Williams, appellant unexpectedly pulled out his gun a few minutes later and shot Jimenez once in the right side of the head from the back right passenger seat, after which the group dumped Jimenez's body in a remote area and burned his car and clothes.

According to Texas DOC, Justin Richards was sentenced to 25 years for murder:
