LINCOLN COUNTY A Foley woman was arrested after sheriff's deputies said she doused her live-in boyfriend with lighter fluid and tried to set him on fire.

Jessica Bressie, 30, of the 200 block of Burr Oak, was charged with first-degree assault and was being held Monday in the Lincoln County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash-only bail.

According to authorities, the couple got into a quarrel Saturday about their children, ages 3 and 6, drawing with markers when they were told not to do so.

Bressie's boyfriend, 30, who also is the children's father, decided to leave, but as he tried to drive their minivan away from the home, Bressie smashed a side window with a baseball bat, authorities said.

The man got out and tried to take the bat away from Bressie. She struck him with the bat, landing several blows on his back and right calf, police said. While her boyfriend was on the ground, Bressie grabbed a can of charcoal lighter fluid and poured it over him, soaking his clothing, deputies said.

Bressie threw the can at him and then chased him around the yard with a cigarette lighter, threatening to burn him to death, police said.

A radio station this morning had two guys on the air calling her a psycho.
Then they had callers tell them about psycho girlfriend stories.
Kind of ticked me off.
