    WA - Katrina Nash, 15, Olympia, 18 June 1996

Hi. I am new to this forum.... I wanted to post this case- since I have followed the story for several years through the internet. I still can't believe that her parents lost the lawsuit against the treating hospital... any thoughts?

I hope she is somewhere out there, and safe. I pray that her family one day finds out what happened to their little girl. What a sad story.

WA-Bones Found In Park Are Those Of Missing Teen

Annie Keller of For the Lost sent this to me. Poor Katrina. I had been holding out hope that she was alive somewhere, maybe had forgotten who she was.

Bones Found In Park Are Those Of Missing Teen

    March 3, 2005

By KOMO Staff & News Services

OLYMPIA - Bones found in a park in Olympia have been identified as those of a teenager who ran away from a hospital nearly nine years ago. Investigators say they now face a daunting task in trying to determine the cause of death of 15-year-old Katrina Nash of Olympia.

The youngest of nine children, she slipped out of a room in the emergency section of Providence St. Peter Hospital, where her mother had brought her because the family's doctor thought she might be manic-depressive.

Her mother fought back tears as she told reporters Thursday how her daughter wanted to be a marine biologist and a concert pianist.

"When there was bad weather I was always so worried that she was out there. At least we know now that she probably wasn't out on her own very long," Dottie Nash said. "She was a beautiful spirit."

Police Commander Tor Bjornstad says it's far from clear whether any crime was committed.

He says it's easy to leap to the conclusion that nash met with foul play, but he notes that many possible causes of death cannot be determined from skeletal remains.

This is so sad. I too was hoping she was alive somewhere - starting another life.
I wish the hospital could be held accountable!

NOOOOO!!! I've followed her case for years, hoping she was alive somewhere, maybe under a different identity or something. This is so sad.

LE can't really believe that this young girl didn't meet with foul play!!!! Young kids don't just go out and die somewhere unless they have a physical illness or something. We will probably never know what actually happened to her. Poor little thing. I hope this give her family some peace. How sad.

Wow. How could the hospital have got away with this morally? So sad that Katrina was found deceased in the end.
