FL - Marlys Welp, 53, slain, dumped in Peace River, Sarasota, 31 July 2007
A swimmer found the suitcase floating in the water, unzipped it and called authorities. It appears to be a caucasian female.
Charlotte Harbor is between Ft Myers and Sarasota.

Wow I wonder how long it would take a body in a suitcase to decompose? Could it have sunk and then eventually started floating again. There is no telling who this might be in this suitcase. I don't think it would have been anyone that has been missing terribly terribly long since they can tell she is white. If you look at mapquest the suitcase could have been dumped in the ocean anywhere along the coast and ended up in the Harbor area, or it could have been dumped there. This will be interesting to find out more details.

Man Charged With Helping In Death Of Woman Stuffed In Suitcase
SARASOTA, Fla. -- Officials in New Jersey have arrested another man in the murder of a woman found stuffed in a suitcase and floating in a Florida river last week.
Twenty-seven-year-old Adam Narducci is currently being held in jail in New Jersey. Police said he has been charged with being an accessory after the murder and grand theft of the victim's car.
The suitcase with the body of Marlys Ann Welp was found by a swimmer on the Peace River last week.
Officials said Sarasota resident Scott Haas admitted to suffocating her after she refused to move out of the home they were renting together.

Subsequent to the interview, Scott Haas was booked into the Sarasota County Jail for murder.

The argument escalated and eventually Haas suffocated Whelp by covering her nose and mouth. Officials say he then disposed of the body in the Peace River.

I like when they confess right away. I wonder why they were living with her? If they aren't related it just seems odd. Maybe she was taking in boarders.

The one article says she and Scott Haas were renting the home together. Maybe the three of them were renting together to save money and it was strictly a roomie situation.

From July 2011:
Adam Narducci, 30, whose last known address was in the Ramada Inn in Raritan Township, was charged with aggravated assault, second and third degree. On April 7 in Lambertville, Narducci allegedly beat Richard Slack, 59, who had to be hospitalized after the attack...
Narducci had been released from a New Jersey prison a year earlier after serving time on an illegal weapon possession conviction. He was arrested in August 2007 in West Amwell Township with a .38-caliber Colt Police Special revolver when he showed up at a relative’s house in a car that had belonged to a woman found murdered in Florida.
He was subsequently sentenced to two years in prison in Florida on charges of being an accessory after the fact to murder and theft of a vehicle, victim Marlys Welp’s 1997 convertible.
