GUILTY MA - Joanna Mullin, 6, raped & murdered, Weymouth, 4 Aug 2007

WEYMOUTH, Mass. - The body of a 7-year-old girl taken from a relative's home in the middle of the night was found early Sunday in the car of a homeless man, who was charged with murder.

Police said Ryan Bois took the girl after she was dropped off at the home for a sleep-over.

Officers said they tried to stop Bois for driving erratically, but he tried to flee and crashed the car into a taxi. He tried to escape on foot but was caught by a police dog, authorities said.

Bois, 20, was arrested on motor vehicle charges and accused of threatening a police officer with a knife. A murder charge was added after the girl's body was found in the back seat of his car, authorities said.

"A suspected hepatitis C-infected junkie accused of murdering his 6-year-old cousin spit at reporters this morning as he was brought into a Quincy court shackled and cuffed to face arraignment for the slaying.
A Patriot-Ledger news reporter hit by the spit was taken to a hospital for observation, court officials said.
Ryan Bois, 20, a Weymouth drifter and reputed heroin addict, was ordered held without bail and sent to Bridgewater State Hospital for observation after pleading innocent to murder.
Bois is accused of murdering his little cousin, Joanna Mullin, according to court testimony. Prosecutors said today there was signs of sexual abuse on the girl’s battered body. An autopsy is pending on the child. Bois has not been charged with sexual assault.
In addition to the murder charges, Bois was arraigned on multiple motor vehicle violations from a crash and police chase at speeds up to 100 miles per hour, and possession of heroin.
Authorities said Mullin was sleeping on a cot in her grandmother’s house in East Weymouth early Sunday morning, having a sleepover with another young relative, when Bois stood on the roof of his grandmother’s SUV, cut a screen and climbed in through a second-story window.
Bois grabbed the girl bringing her into another unoccupied room in the house where he may have killed her, prosecutors said. Bois also took the 64-year-old grandmother’s white Ford Explorer.
Prosecutors say Joanna Mullin’s body showed signs of trauma to the head and body and was bleeding from the mouth."

He's a Hep. C drug junkie, that murdered and possibly raped an innocent little girl. A little girl who never knew such evil exist. Then the scum spat at reporters. I say shoot his sorriness now.

I have to get back to work, and I grow so weary of the evil in this world. It consumes me with my hatred for it. I want joy, peace, happiness....especially for children. At the same time, I feel it is important in some way that I care enough to KNOW what happened. There is nothing I can do about any of these cases.....I wish there was. I can cry for the victims like little Joanna, and I can cherish the good times I have with my own family and friends, but that is about it. I am so thankful for other people like those here at Websleuths who understand this need to know about things that pretty much ruin your day. God bless little Joanna and her family, and God deliver justice to the scum that was her cousin, and should have stood by her and protected her instead of assaulting and murdering her. I HOPE HE ROTS IN HE!!.

This poor, poor baby. I'm not positive, but I do think the reporter can file charges against him as well due to Hep C being so easily transmitted. If he was presently using heroin he's suffering right now. He'll be shown no mercy when he withdrawls in jail, and hopefully some other prisoner will deliver street justice. God Bless that poor, poor little girl.

QUINCY - Police found the naked, bruised and bloodied body of a 6-year-old Weymouth girl in the backseat of a stolen car driven by her cousin, Ryan Bois, who was charged today with her murder, prosecutors said.

There were visible signs on the girl’s body that she had been sexually assaulted, the prosecutor said. Blood and suspected semen were also found on sheets in the home of Arlene White, Ryan and the girl’s grandmother. Joanna Mullin was staying with her grandmother overnight while her parents were out on a date Saturday night.

Wearing a hospital gown and handcuffs, Ryan Bois, 20, spit at reporters today as he was led into Quincy District Court today to face charges he murdered his young cousin.

Prosecutors said that Bois went to his grandmother’s house on Randall Avenue in Weymouth, climbed on the roof of a SUV, cut open a window over the garage and went into the house. Bois took cash and the keys to the SUV and drove away with his cousin in the car.

A police officer saw Bois speed by in Weymouth and tried to stop him but Bois sped off, leading police on a chase into Braintree and into Quincy Point by the Fore River shipyard. The SUV crashed into a cab at the corner of East Howard and Quincy Avenue in Quincy, and Bois jumped from the car and ran. Officers caught him trying to scale a rocky ledge by Quincy Mental Health Center, adding that he was waving a knife at him.

Police discovered Joanna’s body wrapped in a blanket in the backseat of the SUV.

The officer who carried the girl to an ambulance was visibly upset, with two colleagues consoling him with their hands on his shoulders, said Tracey Stedman, a dispatcher for Braintree Best Taxi Co.

‘‘She was limp, in a nightgown,’’ said Stedman, who was at the crime scene at about 1:45 a.m. Sunday. ‘‘Her body was lifeless.’’

This whole thing is just so horrible. My heart goes out to Joanna's parents and to Ryan's mother. Can you imagine your son raping and murdering your little niece who she probably just adored? Can you imagine how hard it would be to face your sister and brother-in-law? I can't begin to imagine how this whole family is going to deal with this horrific loss and still being able to remain close to each other. I hope the two sisters are really close and that this monster hasn't created a breach so wide that they can't over come it. I would just die if my son murdered one of my sister's children. I love my niece and nephews so much it would just kill me.

It sounds like this 20 yr old monster has created problems for himself and his family for quite some time. They have all tried to help him but addiction rules over everyone and everything. Herion is what they call the dragon for a reason. Pure evil. It says that he is suspected of having hep c. I'm sure they will test him at the jail. This kid has wasted his life and it all began with drugs.
I wonder if he will have any remorse when he gets cleaned up and can think straight? I hope this haunts him for the rest of his sorry life.

Is Massachusetts a state that links smaller crimes committed during a rape or murder to make them a felony? I hope so. I see burglarly, theft, kidnapping, child rape, incest, murder during the commision of kidnapping, rape, and theft, grand theft auto, probable DUI, speeding, and evading arrest. Not to mention the new attempted manslaughter charges I'd be pressing for spitting on the reporter. (ETA: With the charges to be amended if the reporter comes up positive for Hepatitis C.) I want to know why charges weren't filed by the police witnesses. I hope all this means he's never going out into society again. And I hope they make him wear a very ugly, humiliatingly patterned muzzle/spitguard after this.

I remember when a man was on our local news when a young girl (7 year-old girl) was raped and murdered. The man was the girl's cousin. He lead a news cameraman to his cousin's body in a cornfield on live tv. He was convicted of her death and was released from jail after a short time only to come back to jail on violations. (he was a minor at the time of the crime)
