I think Stanley Rose looks an awful lot like Joseph Chandler Newton. I zoomed in on both pictures on it's very close in my opinion.
    Where's Logan Tucker?

Excellent find! A lot of good family info there. Did anyone pick up on the fact that Mrs. chandler had a brother that was in the Navy? Wonder if the brother had a child. But, if this was a chandler family member, then why would the family deny it to an investigator who wanted to hand them an estate?

I do have the unedited crime scene photo links, but did not post them due to the graphic nature... I am new here and not sure what is allowed and what is not.
VERY INTERESTING CASE FILE. Thank you for uploading them. One thing popped out at me in reading through it. There is a list of former residents of the South Dakota address, none of which appear to have been interviewed. South Dakota seems to be the only place where people say they recognize this UID but it's been too long and they can't place him. There was ONE name that popped out at me. "M.H. Riddle". Was this guy trying to be funny? Was he relishing in creating a mystery? Creating a "Riddle" that will never be solved? I'm wondering if M.H. Riddle was an assumed name. In a cursory people, I found no M. Riddles in South Dakota. I found one in Weatherford Texas and one in Euclid, Ohio. Don't really know where to go from there. But it seems to me that following up on these former residents may lead to a previous assumed name, if not his real one. Also, I have been following the Lori Kennedy UID case. I wonder if probate court name change records should be checked in some of the locations where he was known to be to see if any of the former tenants in South Dakota's names pop up.

Looks like you'd have to go to Pennington County Courthouse in South Dakota to do any search for name changes. I don't see any internet access.

Cuyahoga county probate court has a 1977 estate of a deceased male Riddle. Can't see the file online. But it's the year that caught my attention and the first initial of M. Would be nice to see the names of the listed heirs. Wife, according to marriage record there could be Irene. Maybe his real name WAS Riddle? Didn't see any name changes for this name.

Bumping cause I can't help but think there is something we are overlooking.
I reread all of the info. that is in the case documents and one thing stood out to me. When a psychic was interviewed about leads to who Joseph was they stated that his fathers name started with G.. such as "Gordon or Gary" ~ it caught my eye that there was a Gordon Wilder listed to have resided at the address that Joseph had gotten his SS card delivered to. I, like many... am a fact vs. fiction person but this seemed a huge coincidence as "Gordon" isn't that common of a name. I am not saying this will lead anywhere but I do think its worth looking into. ~
Hopefully it will yield some results.

You do know that Weatherford Texas is where Joseph Chandler's father was from, don't you? I believe the Chandlers were enroute to visit Joseph's grandmother there when they met with misfortune. I think this Riddle is worth looking into (double meaning intended).

Yes, I was aware of that. Although there were other "riddles" , I pointed out the Weatherford and Euclid ones for obvious reasons. Fake Chandler died in Eastlake, ohio which is very close to Euclid and real chandler has the Weatherford connection.

Ive spent the past few days looking into the "M.H. Riddle" that is listed as living at the address in 1978 that John Doe had received his SS card at. It appears that the last address listed for M.H. Riddle was an assisted living home called Westhills South. It is my assumption that this man was indeed really whom he said he was and it wasn't a false name. I did find a few local businesses close to the address that John Doe received his SS card at such as Riddles Jewelers. I was able to find 1 M.H Riddle when searching out that specific name on ancestry.com but was unable to see the record because my account is not active.
Following up with the "Gordon Wilder" also listed as a previous tenant, it seems like an ever continuous goose chase. Without having more information on the John Doe's real life no matter what I find seems to always be in question. I have tried to tie a "Mary R" to the Wilder family and its such a common name (which I think is the very reason he picked it) that I am coming up short with that route too.
I think its more likely that John Doe was either directly related to one of the Chandlers or Kaaber's. To me there is a resemblance to the Chandler family. And in 1978 it seems highly unlikely that John Doe would have so much information on the Chandler family without having direct knowledge (IMO).
I am currently exploring the Kaaber and Chandler extended family to see if I can find anyone that might stick out.

I'm sure this theory has already been thrown around, but I looked at the age regression photo and immediately thought 'zodiac killer'

If these are old lenses from the late 60s or early 70s, the next thought would be "why would this person have these?". Was he just an avid photographer? Or, if he was really former Navy or military, was he some kind of war correspondent in the military, photo journalist of the time? I saw no mention of any camera, just the lenses? Or was there a camera and only the lenses were mentioned because they were unique in some way? Hmmm..... Curious.

Someone from doenetwork actually suggested this to the LE that was investigating.

Began looking for navy connections again. I found this missing person and I can't get over the similar look. Two glaring problems: height and sex. Time period and age is right. I wonder if she had male relatives in the navy.

Wow, the resemblance is uncanny. Any chance she could have left to have a sex change? It was much more of a big deal back then and maybe she felt she had to hide it? If you look at the UID's actual pics, they almost seem to have a female quality about them IMO.

I've had trouble getting over the resemblance: the nose, hairline, pose, eyes, glasses. Height is off, but who knows if it was correct for either of them. I also think she may have a connection to Ashtabula, Ohio. She was an NRA COMPETITION WINNER in the year she went missing as well.
