After two-and-a-half weeks of intense searching through heavy brush, there's still no sign of 20-year-old Christina Calayca, who vanished while camping with three others at Rainbow Falls Provincial Park near Thunder Bay.
The lack of progress has weighed heavily on her family.
"They've used K-9 units. They've used planes. They've used submarines. They've used all sorts of different ways in order to find Christina. And nothing, absolutely nothing works. There's no clue at all," said her distraught uncle Ken West.

"I won't live without finding my daughter," she said. "I want to see her...I know from the bottom of my heart as a mother, she is alive. She is just kept by somebody. I want to find out who," she adds, referring to a possible kidnapper.

From your second link, lauriej:

Christina Calayca (pictured) hasn't been seen since Monday. The 20-year-old was camping at Rainbow Falls Provincial Park near Thunder Bay with her cousin and two young men. She went jogging with one of the males. He says they split up and she never came back.
"I pray that she is just lost," said the missing woman's frantic aunt, Charina West. "My worst fear is that she's been attacked by someone or kidnapped you know."
Calayca isn't an experienced camper, and her family was surprised to discover she was in the Thunder Bay area after telling them she would be spending the long weekend in Montreal.
"The more I talk to different people they have different answers," a confused West adds.

I hope LE is focusing on that jogger fellow. I think his story sounds hinky.

How sad. I sure hope she is just lost and that she is found soon. I guess it's always possible she took off in a different direction, eh?

Is that area by a "falls" and river of some sort? It's possible she lost her footing and fell into the water? What are the temps up there this time of year?

Thanks in advance if anyone knows those answers! :blowkiss:

The search will resume this spring for a Toronto woman who went missing in Rainbow Falls Provincial Park near Schreiber last summer.

Twenty-year-old Christina Calayca was last seen jogging on the morning of August 6 in the park and did not return to the campsite she shared with three companions. A 17-day search ensued that ended with no evidence of foul play being found. OPP Sgt. Deb Tully said the search planned for last fall was postponed until June because of the early onset of winter.

Tully said the search will likely take a week and will include officers trained in high angle search and rescue and cadaver dogs.

Yes i often wonder about this young lady myself ..Still one of the more stranger cases i have come across.....

Christina was from Toronto. She and her group of campers were inexperienced. Why did they choose to go to Rainbow Falls which is about 11.5 hours away from home? Why didn’t they go somewhere closer like Algonquin Park? I find it odd that someone going in their first camping trip would venture so far away when they could have tried the whole camping experience closer to home. I wonder if there was something else that enticed the group out there? It could offer leads to what happened to her.
