With a poster of his missing daughter on the back of his work van, Barry Shpeley gets up each day and goes to work, carrying on with life the best he can.

His 24-year-old daughter Candace was living in Abbotsford when she went missing 154 days ago.

Since then, Shpeley ‘s life has been turned upside down.

Along with his wife Kathryne, he’s taking care of two of his grandchildren – both starting kindergarten and school for the first time next week.

“It’s hard for the girls,” said Shpeley.

“They ask about her [Candace] and talk about how much they miss their mommy. They still say goodnight to mommy.”

Desperate to find any information on his daughter, Shpeley has started a website – www.candaceamandashpeley.ca – hoping someone will come forward with news.

So far, he has heard nothing.

Are there any physical characteristics on Candace? e.g., height, weight, etc..

Article from Dec 2011 indicates deceased convict Darryl Cole was a POI in Candace's disappearance:

“He was a person of interest in that he was one of the last people with Candace before she disappeared,” Pound said, adding that many others are also considered “persons of interest” in the matter.

Candace’s father, Barry Shpeley of Chilliwack, said he is aware that Cole was with his daughter in the days before her disappearance.

“From what I gather, he was the last person to see (Candace).”

Shpeley says nothing has been done to find his daughter in the past two years, so he put a notice for her birthday in the paper to send a message.

“That she’s not forgotten and you know just because we haven’t been doing anything publicly for her doesn’t mean we haven’t been thinking about her.”

Shpeley says police were reluctant to take the missing person’s case when she disappeared.

And says he doesn’t believe she would willingly stay away from her children.

absolutely nothing has moved in any direction since this last post in 2009. The police have determined that a now dead inmate admitted to murdering Candace right before he died. The person of interest was also working with another criminal who was caught and convicted of attempted murder during a "grow rip" My question is
Who really was the last known person with Candace before her disappearance
How can the general public support this missing persons case to move forward ? Candace has 3 children they have all entered or about to enter into teenage hood. Their entire childhoods have been living with the fact their mother is just gone. Thank you

It was only after his 24-year-old daughter Candace went missing in 2007 that Barry Shpeley realized how few recent photos he had of her. He was focused instead on his grandchildren, but now tells anyone who will listen to take as many photos of their adult children as possible.

New lead in mysterious disappearance of young mom Candace Shpeley

The mysterious disappearance of Candace Shpeley just got a little stranger after a private investigator uncovered a student loan taken out in her name five years after she vanished...
A credit bureau record shows a student loan was taken out in Candace’s name in 2012 in B.C. and that someone made a payment on it in 2013, evidence Barry Shpeley is sharing with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team.

I could see possible identity theft happening with a student loan, but what’s the point of going to college to graduate with someone else’s name? Why make repayments?

This mp case is getting strange! Snippets from the link.. rbbm, imo.

"A credit bureau record shows a student loan was taken out in Candace’s name in 2012 in B.C. and that someone made a payment on it in 2013, evidence Barry Shpeley is sharing with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team"

"After new witness interviews, private investigators now believe Candace may have been involved in an ugly love triangle before her disappearance. Candace exchanged letters with several men who were incarcerated, her father said."

"Then after a flurry of anonymous sightings in Chilliwack were posted to Facebook in 2014, Cpl. Dale Carr said police thought Candace may be being held against her will."

"In order to obtain the student loan, the applicant must present photo ID at a Service B.C. office and have her identification cross-referenced with a social insurance number, according to Student Aid B.C".
