How do you make a link to somewhere, say The Charley Project, so that it says "The Charley Project" and not some long drawn out link?

Copy the URL of your link, highlight the phrase "The Charley Project" (or whatever) in your reply, and click on the symbol under the smiley face that looks like the world with a chain link under it on the reply form. (So technical, I know!)

A box should come up asking you for the link, and you paste it there and click OK. The only thing I watch is that sometimes the http:// is duplicated when doing this and then the link won't work. You can check by arrowing back (before clicking OK) and deleting the duplicate characters. Click OK and it should look like this:
