Melbourne police are asking for help in locating a 35-year-old woman who has been missing since March 12, 2006.

Jeannine Erwin, also known as Jeannine Arnold or Jeannine Carfi, called her husband on March 15, 2006, to say she was in Malabar, but no one has heard from her since.

Erwin has brown hair, blue eyes, is 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighed about 140 pounds. She had a cancer tattoo on her lower back, a dolphin tattoo on right hip, four-leaf clover tattoo on left ankle, heart with wing tattoo on shoulder and a butterfly tattoo on her chest.

The last time we seen Jeannine was the night she went to bed on Sunday, March 12th,2006.The last time we actually talked to Jeannine was 2 days later, Tuesday, March 14th at 12:30 a.m. She called from which we believe was a payphone. She said that she was at a gas station on US1, near the city of Grant which is located just minutes south of Melbourne.

She talked to her husband who answered the phone and asked him to tell her mother, who also lives with them, to please come and pick her up. She sounded panicked and scared. Her mother drove for hours up and down us1 and stopped at every gas station around there until 4:00a.m that morning, but Jeannine was nowhere to be found. Her mother could not find her anywhere.

In the past she has known to be in the areas of Fellsmere, Vero, Grant and even Cocoa. She also has been known to go in the western part of West Melbourne around route 192 and I95 area.

There has been a few possible sightings of her. We have no positive Id’s of yet. Someone claimed they seen her on the Sun Cruz Casino the weekend before Mother’s Day, Someone else said they think they seen her on US1 in Palm Bay.

She is very close to her children, Mother and Sister and brothers. We talked on the phone to each other on a daily basis. Sometimes weekly at the most. Her family is very worried and also her children are heartbroken. If she would somehow get this message that we all love and miss her so much and want her to come home. The whole family is devastated.

If for some reason she feels she can’t come home because of anything she feels she has done wrong or she felt like giving up and couldn’t face these issues she may be burdening herself with. She is wrong. We love her more than anything in the world. We are a very close family and will not judge her for any of her doings and we can get through this together as a family. We just want her home safe.

I do wonder about this case after a bit of quick research.

Jeannine Carfi married Wendell Lloyd Arnold in 1997 (I presume Erwin is the name of her last husband). It seems to have been her second marriage (with a possible one in 1991 to a Christopher Cochrane). Post 3 above seems to allude to her possible involvement in dubious activities, although the link no longer works so I could not see the original source. However, Wendell Arnold seems a very interesting person. This obviously raises the question of whether Jeannine was still involved with her ex-husbands activities or whether he may have felt threatened by her knowledge of those activities.

Of course, Jeannine's disappearance may be completely unrelated to her ex, but it would be interesting to know how closely LE looked at him, especially given the proximity in time of his drug dealing and Jeannine's disappearance.

Jeannine was a 33-year-old woman who had finally put the lid on the demons of a crack cocaine addiction and was trying to get her life back in order...

Because Erwin's husband, Marvin Patrick Erwin, said she left on her own and because she did not drive, the case was considered a runaway. There was no evidence to suggest an abduction.

Erwin was on probation for child molestation when the couple met. He violated that probation after Jeannine disappeared and has two years remaining in prison from the 12-year sentence.

Jeannine Erwin was 33 years old when she went missing in Melbourne, Florida on March 19, 2006. Erwin was last seen by her family when she went to bed in her Melbourne, Florida home on March 12, 2006. Her loved ones last heard from her two days later, on March 14 at 12:30 a.m. She called her husband of four months, possibly from a pay phone, and said she was at a gas station on U.S. 1 near Grant, Florida.

Erwin asked her husband to ask her mother, who lived with the couple, to pick her up. She sounded frightened at the time. Erwin's mother went looking for her and searched for hours, stopping at gas stations on U.S. 1 until 4:00 a.m., but could not find her daughter. She has not been heard from since. Her husband reported her as a missing person on March 19.

There is a possibility that Erwin left of her own accord, and there were several unconfirmed sightings in the general area after her disappearance. She has previously frequented the cities of Fellsmere, Vero, Grant and Cocoa in Florida, and the Route 192 and Interstate 95 area of western Melbourne.

Erwin's family stated it is uncharacteristic of her to be out of regular contact with them. She left behind four children. Her case remains unsolved.

She has several distinguishing marks including a scar on her stomach from breast to belly button; Four leaf clover tattoo on right ankle; butterfly tattoo on chest; a heart with wings tattoo on shoulder; cancer & Ying/Yang tattoo on lower back; small dolphin tattoo on right hip; the word PAT on her abdomen and two cherries tattoo on groin area and the number 69 on her buttocks.
