GA - Perry Johnson, 43, Kingston, 1 Aug 2007
A 43-year-old Kingston man is missing, last seen at a local business.
Perry Johnson, a lifetime resident of the city, was last seen August 1 at about 7 p.m. at the Dollar General store in Kingston.
"We talked to his mother, and this is not in his character at all," Police Chief Pete Little said. "He has seizures real bad and hasn't had his medicine since Wednesday."
Johnson also is without his wallet and identification, Little added.
Little, along with the town's other police officer, investigators from the Bartow County Sheriff's Office, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Emergency Management Agency are all in Kingston working on the case. "We formed a party search at 8 a.m. or 8:30 a.m.," Little said.
The search members, armed with fluorescent vests, water bottles and two-way radios, were divided into groups by the police leaders. The search party, including Kingston resident Suzanna Hasg, a friend of Johnson, searched wooded areas, vacant houses and anywhere else they believed the man could have been.
"Perry comes by here almost every day," Hash said, describing Johnson as a fun-loving guy who spoke to everyone. "He walks all through town. He was raised here."
Hash said she had dropped Johnson off at the Mexican restaurant in Kingston Wednesday night, with Johnson saying he would call his mother for a ride home.
Hash said she went out with other Kingston residents at 9 a.m. searching for Johnson. At 6:30 p.m., Hash said others were still out looking for the man and her family was about to go out to distribute pictures to cars driving by a stop sign.
Little said anyone with any information about Johnson's disappearance should contact the Kingston Police Department at 770-336-5507 or the Bartow County Sheriff's Office.

On 9/23, they stated the case might be upgraded to a homicide investigation, based on a cadaver dog hit in a vehicle.
They also have stated:"We have narrowed it down to about four individuals," Little said, adding a suspect may be named after results from the GBI crime lab come back. He was unsure when the results would return.
