Woman Who Helped Step-Father Molest Girl Arrested

SDPD SEX CRIMES INVESTIGATORS ARREST FATHER AND
    STEP-DAUGHTER IN MOLESTATION CASES
(San Diego) In May, SDPD Sex Crimes detectives began an investigation involving allegations
of child molestation against Rick Allen Stockton, 51, and his step-daughter Lindsay Stockton,
    25. Investigators served a search warrant at Rick Stocktonís residence in Rancho PeŮasquitos
(in May). Rick Stocktonís computers were seized and they were examined by forensic
specialists. The examination revealed evidence that supports the child molestation allegations.
Evidence also revealed that Stocktonís step-daughter Lindsay was involved in the illegal activity.
Today, SDPD Sex Crimes detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Rick Stockton and
arrest and search warrants for Lindsay Stockton. Earlier today, SDPD investigators and
members of the Department of Justice Sexual Assault Felony Enforcement (SAFE) Task Force
arrested Rick Stockton here in San Diego. Detectives from the SDPD Sex Crimes unit traveled
to Safford, Arizona and received assistance from the Arizona Department of Public Safety in
serving arrest and search warrants at Lindsay Stocktonís residence today. Lindsay Stockton
was booked into the Graham County Adult Detention Center in Safford, Arizona and Rick
Stockton is being held in the San Diego Central Jail. Both are charged with multiple counts of
    child molestation.
No interviews will be conducted regarding these arrests today. No photographs of the
    Stocktonís will be released.

Sorry, but this is old news. She's already been tried and sentenced.

She got 3 years and he got 12 yrs. Not near enough for either of them. They think that the stepdaughter was sexually abused by her stepfather from the age of 5 yrs and that she was afraid of him. If she was afraid of him why is she still connected to him at age 25?

Years of abuse and emotional control by the people who are supposed to protect and love you make it very difficult to break free, no matter how painful and traumatic life is while around them.. it is still difficult to get away. It took me a long time. They leech on and even if the physical abuse stops, the emotional keeps on going. I can understand how she'd still be connected.

I'm not making excuses for her, but it that's all she knows, he may have exerted so much control she felt she had no choice. Very often people who were abused grow up to be abusers.

Lindsay Stockton was sentenced to 3 years and must register as a sex offender for helping her stepfather molest a child she once cared for. She says she was molested by her stepfather from the age of 5 and she was afraid of him. She plead guilty to one lewd act. The stepfather also plead guilty to several charges of molestation.

Lindsay is reported to have given the young victim alcohol and encouraged her to participate.

The article in the first post on this thread is from November 2006.

Oops. CaliKid, I should have read further before posting. I don't think they were given nearly enough time. I don't feel sorry for Lindsay at all. If she was a victim she should have cared more for the young child's feelings and refused to participate or allow him access to that child.

They say there is a cycle of abuse and abusers are likely to have been abused. It's not right and doesn't make sense, but that's what I've heard.

I've heard that too but I, and many others, have been abused and DO NOT go on to abuse or think there is anything normal about it. From what I read, it is usually men who were abused as children who go on to abuse...women who were abused as children usually end up with an abuser. Of course there will always be exceptions.

My daughter's boyfriend was abused by his father for many years. He's living with his grandmother now... who thoughtlessly says "You're just like your father" about some things. He never said anything to her or asked her what she meant, but he was distraught and asked me if I thought he was like his father - because he was terrified that would mean he would do those same things to someone when he got older.

That's a harsh thought to carry around as a young teen!
