OMRO, Wis. — The candy-apple red Mustang GT is just a toy, but that didn't stop 3-year-old Jordan Will from taking his battery-operated wheels for a brief ride along a busy stretch of highway.

Drivers stopped and neighbors chased down the car until an officer could pull over Jordan and his 2-year-old passenger on Sunday.

"Nothing bad happened, so it's kind of cute now when you look at it," said his father, Doug Will. "But at the time, it wasn't cute at all. It was scary. I was really upset."

The Mustang is decked out with all the extras: a rear spoiler, a premium sound system and chrome wheels.

The boys drove the tricked-out ride through their Omro neighborhood and pulled up to a busy intersection.

"He even obeyed the signs, so that was good. He stopped at the red light and got on the cross walk," said neighbor Jaci Bauer.

Shouldn't dad or mom or whoever was watching this kid be behind bars right about now?

Very true! My neighbor's grandson has one of these types of cars, it even has XM satellite radio! I joked with my five-year-old daughter that she had just had her first date in a car with a boy!

My youngest wants one of those Mustangs for christmas. I can't imagine him driving it on a highway though.

Wow. I just have to disagree with the dad. I don't find it cute at all. I'm guessing lots of parents wouldn't.

OMG! My son has one of those and I don't let him out of arm's reach! He's a maniac!

Thank goodness, the kidos are safe. What the heck does this mustang look like?

..and he'll have fun, fun fun, til daddies takes the keys away
(I know the song is different)

I wonder if this will be counted as a moving violation and cause his insurance to go up?
Maybe he could go to traffic pre-school to keep it off his record.

Good one!

Dad, or whomever, SHOULD have been charged...this whole incident really is NOT funny at all...those babies could have been ran over in an instant...
my two babies had a barbie jeep, and I would take them down the road in it, and let them ride in the road, but whenever I heard a car I would literally lean over and push them to the side in it...never would I have left them alone in it for any amt. of time!

I'm sorry, I know I shouldn't be laughing, but I am about to fall off my chair. He obeyed the traffic signs! I just see something so precocious in that!

Here, I'll save everybody some trouble: I'll smack myself. :slap:

Oh, thank goodness somebody else thinks a 3-year-old driving around obeying traffic signs in a little red mustang is funny and cute. I KNOW it was wrong and dangerous and could have turned out tragically and the parents should have made sure it didn't happen. But I can't help laughing at the mental image of this tiny motorist.

We all of course know this was wrong and dangerous. But those of us who are making little funnies about it are probably doing so out of relief that nothing bad did happen.

I hope he continues to obey traffic signs when he really is old enough to drive for real! :)
