Right now, it looks like the bones are that of a man.

Lt. Tim Carroll with the Chattanooga Police Department says, "The skull and the bones are clean. The rest of the body I haven't seen but there's clothing and I don't know how much decomposition there was but it's been out here for a while obviously to be a complete skull."

The UT forensic anthropology team has been called in to help figure out who the remains might belong to and determine how the person may have died.

Could this be Carlos Montoya? The description of the clothing fits:

Carlos Montoya, age 15, was last seen boarding a Greyhound Bus in Macon, Georgia on Monday, August 7th, 2006 and is believed
to have arrived in Houston, Texas. Carlos has not been seen or heard from since. He was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt, blue jean shorts,
and red & black Nike tennis shoes.

Wow, Indigo, awesome catch...but at 140 lbs would he wear a size 40 shorts and XL undies and a 42-44 size belt? But I wonder if maybe he was into the baggy look?

Hi englishleigh,

I definitely think that Carlos would be into the urban hip hop style. From what I can gather, his family thought he was on his way to Texas join a gang. G.H. Bass brand (his denim shorts) would be consistent with this trend also, I believe.

I think you should forward Carlos' info to the Chattanooga PD, Indigo....

Unsure if this John Doe is still unidentified, or if another thread exists for this case.

I can't find this UID listed at Doenetwork or NamUs.

To be honest I don't see someone who wants to join a gang, taking their clothes to the dry cleaner. Also, I would think the boxers would be a smaller size if it was someone purposely wearing larger sized clothes.

Can anyone find any updates on this case at all? I can only find two NamUs cases from TN in October 2007 and both aren’t from Chattanooga - both are from Shelby Co.
