Here are some possible matches I dug up. What does everyone think?
The UID is listed as white, but she looks Hispanic to me, or at least mixed.

Her teeth were well taken care of, which means if she was a runaway, she probably hasn't been gone for too long.

Also, her pants were size 9/10, which would be too big on someone who weighs 115 lbs. This further adds to the runaway theory.

She was wearing a MacArthur shirt, which is most likely related to MacArthur High School in Aldine, TX, where she was found.

I wish the cause of death was released.

I believe she was found "in distress" at a gas station. IIRC she was on fire. Sorry - no time to find a link at the moment - will check later!

The title of the thread says unidentified white female , found 6/30/2007
then with her case number and such says found 7/11/2007 and est. time of death 7/11/2007. where did 6/30/07 come from?

you're right...i must've been working on a different case and got the dates confused. Anyone know how to go back and edit a title?

And, if the girl was on FIRE, either she had an accident and burned herself, or more likely, someone put her on fire :(

I wonder if toxicology tests were done on her?

Arrrgh - this is driving me *crazy*! I found a couple of blog posts that mention the girl being "in distress" at the gas station but cannot find anything in the Chronicle archives about this girl. Weird.

So far this is all I have been able to find out about this UID:

<snip>

In a July 11 case, Harris County sheriff's deputies responded to an emergency call at a service station store in the 13000 block of Aldine Mail Road to find a woman lying in the grass near a car wash.

Sheriff's spokesman Lt. John Martin said officers were told the woman seemed to have difficulty breathing, then passed out. She was declared dead shortly after noon at Northeast Medical Center.

Authorities said the woman was 5-foot-1 and weighed 120 pounds. She was Caucasian with long, wavy brown hair and brown eyes. Her knees and lower legs bore multiple small scars.

Thanks, RKnowley - I was going bonkers trying to find that.

And about mentioning that she was set on fire - apparently I made that up. Sorry for any confusion.

Maybe you did hear she was set on fire from someplace else?? There certainly wasn't much other news about her I could find. I mean did she only have breathing difficulties and she died from that or was there another reason? I think there has to be more to the story. I wonder what her cause of death was?

I wonder why if she was found still alive with breathing difficulties that the eye color is listed as unknown. Unless her eyes were badly injured or someone simply forgot to note her eye color, I don't understand.

Maybe she was burned, which may have made it impossible to note her eye color. Or perhaps something else that we don't know about yet happened that has made eye color not able to be known. Or it may be that for whatever reason, despite that the eye color was initially known, accurate notes were not originally made and then put into her autopsy report and/or in the ts dps report above.

ETA: Annemc, is it possible that you were thinking of the thread on the unidentified Kilgore, TX Jane Doe that we call Princess Lavender? She was in fact burned. Both were young women and both were found in TX. Just a thought. If so, it still wouldn't explain why there is no eye color listed for her if she died after first having been found alive.

When they find john/jane does, i hope they check for contact lens. Either if someone has a colored lens that different of their eye color. I've also wondered how that works at the DMV; they seem to put down whatever color my hair was dyed at the time, not the color of the roots. These things can throw off those searching for a match.

I remember reading somewhere that she was burned. It's possible it was a typo on whichever site I saw it on (DoeNetwork, I think) and has since been updated. I'll ETA if I find it on the way back machine.

To add some weight to this theory, there is a club at MacArthur High School called the Run Thru Crew. I'm not sure what kind of club it is... haven't found anything about it online. If you go to: http://www1.aldine.k12.tx.us/schools/websites/macsr/organizations.htm
You'll see a list of organizations for MAcArthur High School. The faculty sponsers for the Run Thru Crew are listed, and their names can be clicked on to e-mail them. I'll research further after class, and post what I find.

Also, I vote we name this girl "Princess Rose" (because her shirt was red) or "Princess Star" (because of the star on her shirt).

What I've found about other Run Thru Crew orgs. at other high schools, suggests it could be a school spirt club- the members make posters and such for events like football games. Anyone else doing research on Run Thru Crew should consider other spellings, such as Run Thru Cru, Run Thru Crewe, Run Through Crew, etc. Some times it's hyphenated between words, sometimes not.

According to http://www.identifyus.org/report.php?p=individual&i=561 she was barefoot when she arrived at the ME office, eye color is listed as dark, and DNA samples have been submitted.

A reply to my email to the Harris Co. medical examiner's office:

"Has this one been solved yet?"

No, but we have a lead. She may be a recent immigrant. The story is vague in terms of who she was traveling with. We are waiting for the results of DNA comparison. The MacArthur lead has been work from every angle.

I like the name, Princess Rose, that you chose for her Sable.

I am glad they have a lead, and I hope this young girl is identified soon.
