Mormon church president dies at 97

SALT LAKE CITY - Gordon B. Hinckley, the Mormon church's oldest president who presided over one of the greatest periods of expansion in its history, died Sunday. He was 97.

Hinckley, the 15th president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, died of complications arising from old age, church spokesman Mike Otterson said.

My family are recent converts to the LDS church, and we were very impressed with President Hinckley. I'm sorry that we've lost him, but my first thought was to be happy for him. His wife passed a few years ago, and I know he's with her now :)

Condolences to you and your fellow Mormon's.

He sure had a long life. That says something for clean living.

Condolences, hipmamajen. I have Mormon friends locally who welcome me to use the Family History Center for genealogical research. They are welcoming and helpful to me and all the Daughters of the Revolution members when we need it.
