Sounds like maybe a family dispute:

A little more info at the below link. Odd situation for the kidnapping. Videos at the same link. Family lives in a nice house. Several stations say they are setting up for live feeds.

Officials say he was taken from the back seat of his family's car as his mother and sister waited in the front seat to take him to his school, Copperfield Elementary.

Reportedly, Adrian tried to fight off his abductors but was unable to do so due to his age and size.

ETA: abrutly the interview and live feed was cut off when the little girl said her parents weren't with her at the moment.

I am so confused. Different reports state that he was abducted from his home, in front of his elementary school from inside the car while his mom and sis sat up front, and now Fox is stating in front of his house when him and his father were getting into the car.

Sounds like these kids were being watched and followed... snipped from the sister:

She said she had seen two of the men about a week ago near Copperfield Elementary. They had driven up to her and her brother, opened the door slightly, but did not do anything. She notified her principal.
She said the driver of that car a week ago was one of the men who abducted Adrian Thursday morning.

KXAN Austin News talked to Zuleina Jaimes, Adrian's 10-year-old sister. She was in the car with him Thursday morning when he was abducted. She said they were on their way to school.
Zuleina said Adrian was screaming when the men abducted him. She said she had seen two of the men about a week ago near Copperfield Elementary. They had driven up to her and her brother, opened the door slightly, but did not do anything. She notified her principal.
She said the driver of that car a week ago was one of the men who abducted Adrian Thursday morning.

She said she believes the men may have abducted Adrian for money, but did not know if the men knew her parents. She said she's extremely scared for him.

Much more info at the below link. LE thinks the family was targeted.

Munoz said police have determined that the suspects are “complete strangers” to the family. However, “it is obvious to us it is not a random kidnapping,” Munoz said. “There is a reason behind it.”

That does seem to be an odd statement. My first thought was a family member had taken him.

If this is gang related, it would seem to be random. Maybe I am interpreting random incorrectly in this case.

I think we will need to learn more about the father before we can make the connection.

I think LE means that because that little boy was taken right in front of his home with his family within a few feet of him, that it must be targeted and not random. But the statement that the family does not know these guys sure makes the situation bizarre! Why take him??? His sister was there too? Why him? There were other kids walking to school as well. Unattended by adults. But they take him...in front of his family.

Idaho, thank you for posting this! I admire you for posting new missing person's cases daily or nearly daily. Your devotion and determination is amazing! This little boy, Adrian, was abducted just a few minutes from where I live, and it is good to know so that I can keep a look out.
