Australia - Edwina Boyle, 30, found murdered, Dandenong, VIC, 6 Oct 1983
(Drew? Oh wait, this was in Australia.)
Boyle told the court this week he found his 30-year-old wife dead in bed with two bullets in her head and one of his neckties around her throat.
Boyle had told his two daughters their mother ran off with a truck driver, but a son-in-law found the remains in the 170-liter (44-gallon) drum while tidying the yard in October 2006. (more at link)

Wow, that's crazy.. i wonder what the his children think now of the lie he told them. Right in the yard, dang.. i guess he figured no one would check the obvious place back then.

From March 2008:
Frederick Boyle, 58, originally from Peterson-super-Ely, Vale of Glamorgan, was convicted last month of the 1983 murder of his wife Edwina...
A judge at Victoria Supreme Court in Melbourne gave Boyle a 21-year sentence with no chance of parole for 17 years.
