The Carol Sund/Carrington Memorial Reward Foundation announced they had put up the reward in the case of Frank Connell, 47, last seen on the night of April 20, [2007] at Den Den's Bar on Broadway. Connell was also Gibson's Bar for a short time that night.

Police used bloodhounds early in the investigation and two different dogs tracked Connell's scent to the city's boat launch on the Hudson River on the north end of the city. The river was swollen by heavy rain and a spring thaw at the time of Connell's disappearance.

Details of Disappearance
Connell was seen between the hours of 9:30 and 11:45 p.m. on April 20, 2007 at Gibson's Bar in 800 block of Broadway in Rensselaer, New York, and afterwards nearby at Den-Den's. He had been drinking alcohol that night. He has never been heard from again.

After his disappearance, he missed work two days in a row at his job, as a sheet rocker for a local business. It's uncharacteristic of him to miss work and after two days had passed without contact, his employer reported him missing.

Dogs tracked Connell's scent from the bars up Broadway to the city boat dock and into the water. No signs of a disturbance were found at his apartment. Foul play is not suspected in Connell's case, but it remains unsolved.

Police said they've linked a skull that was found by a hiker nearly six years ago along the Hudson River to Frank Connell, a local man who went missing in 2007.

The hiker was looking for arrowheads in the Vosburgh Swamp Wildlife Management Area in Coxsackie when he found the remains on Feb. 26, 2017, Rensselaer police Detective Sgt. Michael Deso said Friday.
[...]
In 2018 the medical examiner's office created a usable DNA profile of the skull. Rensselaer police developed their own profile for Connell last year using DNA from his relatives and sent samples to compare, Deso said. Last month, the DNA was found to be a match and police said they have concluded the remains are Connell's.
