    Mum dies saving babies.

Mother dies after saving baby in floods

    Thursday Feb 14 10:11 AEDT
A mother saved her baby from floodwaters in central Queensland before collapsing and dying.
The 36-year-old woman and her husband had been driving with their two children on the Capricorn Highway at Gogango on Wednesday night when the car acquaplaned on the flooded roadway.
The car came to rest about 600 metres from the Gogango Creek crossing, before it was pushed off the road and into one-metre-deep water about 8.30pm (AEST).
A police spokeswoman said the father managed to reach into the backseat and unbuckle the children, aged two and six-months, before the couple fled the car with one child each in their arms. The father, also 36, made it out of floodwaters but the woman was dragged by the water and was forced to cling to a tree with the baby in her arms "for some time" until help arrived from a nearby property, she said.
Once rescued, she collapsed with exhaustion.

This story is in stark contrast to some we read here....what a brave lady and a devoted mother.

What a story. I am glad the babies were saved but sad to learn their mommy died. What a loving and caring mom she was.

You are so right in the difference between her and so many we read about here.
This is so sad, but this mom will always be the remembered as the best a mother could be. God Bless this wonderful lady.

What a sad ending. She held on until her baby was safe.

How unfair that she died and the trashy killers we see here all the time are still allowed to breathe.
