    RI - Amy Scott, 21, & Daniel Querzoli, 22, vanish after Valentine's Dinner 2008 - #1

Why did Amy and Daniel need to borrow a car when they owned their own cars? Why would they leave their Wallets, ID's and cell phones behind? Where would they be going at midnight?

    http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,330972,00.html

Rhode Island police are searching for a college couple, who vanished after having Valentine's Day dinner together, MyFOXProvidence reported.
Amy Scott, 21, and her boyfriend Daniel Querzoli, 22, borrowed a friend's car "just to run an errand," but haven't been heard from since, the station reported. (more at link)

Amy Scott, 21, of New Jersey and her boyfriend Daniel Querzoli, 22, of East Bridgewater, Mass. were last seen at about midnight on Friday when they borrowed a car from one of Scott's roommates, police said.
Scott's mother called police to report her daughter missing, according to police.

It appears the couple went to dinner before they vanished. I hope Daniel's roomate and car owner is on the up and up.

Normally, the police wouldn’t start a search so quickly unless a missing person was mentally or physically disabled, said Weston, but this case “is a bit perplexing.” Scott and Querzoli went out to dinner Friday night and went back to Scott’s apartment at 521 Angell St., in Providence. Even though both have cars, they borrowed a roommate’s car and left the apartment around midnight, leaving behind their money, credit cards and cell phones. Also the roommate’s car had little gas; its gas cap was broken and could only be removed by the car’s owner, Weston said.

This case sounds odd, doesn't it? The way I read it is that they borrowed the vehicle after the Valentine's dinner to "run an errand". Did they decide to do something incredibly stupid or supposedly romantic? Why borrow a car if they both had cars?

I would say the roomate has more information than he is telling. Something definitely is wrong with this picture. The argument could have been much more and perhaps Scott had other plans for Valentine's day for her...after she broke up with him maybe? The roomate could be hiding something that happened to them both, too.

Scott's roommate said the couple had a minor argument the day before, but also said they looked happy after their Valentine's Day dinner.

And what does the roomate mean by borrowing the car? Did they do it with or without his permission. I just can't see anything going on that wouldn't require money. And people that age just don't leave their cell phones behind.

So why didn't the car owner call LE since it was his car and roomate that was missing?

But the couple does not have their cell phones, so her roommates called their parents, and the police. Now a nationwide alert is out to help find Amy and Daniel.

Yes, there is something definitely messed up with the scenario all the way around. Someone knows something.

I can't see them both leaving without money and cell phones. One of them may have forgotten their cell phones but not both of them. Somethings not adding up.

I'm not sure what to make of this latest info. Where are they and what are they living on if they don't have their wallets? Who's phone did she use to make that call? And WTF do they still have to take care of? Did it not occur to the roomate to ask more questions since, well gee, LE and the whole country is looking for them?!!!!

There are puzzling new developments in the case of a missing pair of college students. Eyewitness News learned late Sunday night that Amy Scott called a friend to say she was okay, and was still with her boyfriend, Dan Querzoli -- but they still had "something to take care of first."

Is she pregnant and having a baby, or giving it away for adoption, or aborting it? This is truly bizarre.

Just before the two left for a midnight drive Thursday, Querzoli sent his father a text message that said, “I’ll see you tomorrow,” his father said. The two had planned to do some work around their East Bridgewater home.

I was wondering that too. But you would need to have your ID right? I can see leaving cell phones behind if you didn't want to be traced. But your wallets? And why not take your own car? Weird, weird, weird.

“He’s a good kid, he really is,” said his father, Robert Warren. “I’m at a loss right now.”

I wasn't quite sure what to make of this sentence though:
Querzoli, an avid skier, had introduced her to the sport. They had spent several weekends running away to the mountains, Laura Tool said.

Does she just mean "getting away"? I think that's an odd way to say it. Maybe it's ski-talk!

Well, I sure hope they are o.k. Strange that the car had little fuel but it hasn't been located by anyone yet.

Also, I think this is weird but maybe I'm just old and suspicious of everything!

Scott's roommate said the couple had a minor argument the day before, but also said they looked happy after their Valentine's Day dinner.
"She said she just wanted to see him and exchange Valentine's Day gifts with him, but everything was fine," Jackie Kett told MyFOXProvidence.

So I think she's the roomie. It sounds weird that Amy would be explaining seeing her bf on Vday that way, but again, maybe the roomie just worded it strangely. IMO! I mean, who has to explain wanting to see their SO on Vday and exchanging gifts?

I'm probably reading too much into this.

Video with Brian Warren, father of Dan, speaking on this video:
    http://wbztv.com/local/missing.colle....2.656251.html
    Paraphrasing one of his comments:
Danny has on occasion been flighty and is one to go away for an adventure 2-3 days at a time" even though he's talked with Amy's parents and she would stay in contact with her family.

Didn't they already eat? So why did they need to eat again? Hmm.
