Details of Disappearance
Chance was abducted by his non-custodial father, Lee Herman Wackerhagen Jr., from Lockhart, Texas on December 26, 1993. Lee's photos, an age-progressed image and vital statistics at the time of disappearance are posted below this case summary.
Gaye Williams, Chance's mother, had custody of the child at the time of his abduction. Williams and Lee had divorced three years before. Chance left his mother's home on December 17 to spend the Christmas holidays with his father. The child last spoke to Williams on Christmas Day, asking for permission to stay a few days longer with Lee. She says he sounded happy and excited about his Christmas presents. Williams gave him permission to stay longer and told him to call her later to set up a time to return home. She never heard from Chance again.
Lee allegedly abducted his son shortly after the murder of Lee's girlfriend, Latricia Gail White. White's body was found at her home on December 27; she is believed to have been killed the previous day. She had been shot six times in the head. The Federal Bureau Of Investigation (FBI) has issued warrants for Lee's arrest on the following charges: murder, unlawful flight to avoid prosecution and interference with child custody. He had no criminal record prior to this and Williams does not believe he would have harmed Chance. Lee's 1986 Ford pickup truck was found abandoned in east Austin, Texas at 1:00 a.m. three days after the murder.
Neither Chance nor his father have been seen again. Caution is advised when approaching them.

Distinguishing Characteristics: Caucasian male. Dark blond hair, blue eyes. Lee had a moustache at the time of his 1993 disappearance. He wears eyeglasses. Lee's nickname is Dub and he may use the alias name Doug Walker. He was employed as a truck driver prior to Chance's abduction.
Medical Conditions: Lee may be suicidal.
