In a press release today from Drew Peterson's Public Relations firm we learn that he and his children have stayed with this "renowned psychotherapist". In a brief initial attempt to find out WHO this "doctor" is, his online presence is quite thin. Not what one would expect of a "renowned psychotherapist"

Here is the press release in its entirety since it is NOT subject to standard copyright laws:

Renowned Psychotherapist Defends Care of Drew Peterson Children
Dr. Dan Budenz, Ph.D. says the children are being well cared for.

ThePublicityAgency.com - February 29, 2008

(PRNewsChannel) / Orlando, Fla. - While in California, he and his staff quietly treated hundreds of celebrities for addiction and affective disorders. Now Dr. Daniel Budenz, Ph.D., known to many as "Dr. Dan," is publicly defending the care of Drew Peterson's children.

"The Peterson children are caught in the middle of dueling family members and huge media frenzy,'' says Dr. Dan, who was friends with Peterson 20 years ago and recently reconnected. "The family has had to wake up at four in the morning to the roar of media generators, climb over the back fence to attend school and then hear the accusations against their dad on TV."

Dr. Dan says the Peterson children know what is happening-appropriate for their ages and abilities.

"From what I see, Drew and the outside help he's hired to help care for the children are doing a great job," says Dr. Dan. Peterson is the former Chicago area police officer who's at the center of one of the biggest crime investigations.

The death of Peterson's third wife, Kathleen Savio, was recently ruled a homicide.

His fourth wife Stacy disappeared.

Peterson has not been charged with a crime but has been the consistent focus of police and media attention.

Peterson and his children escaped the media circus over Christmas and New Year's by being with Dr. Dan and his family in Florida. Peterson has since come to see Dr. Dan a few more times.

"Drew is a very attentive father," says Dr. Dan. "The two oldest sons clearly understand what is happening--one is a police officer. The two teens are equally aware and are extremely helpful, wonderful, motivated, young men who stand by their dad and help Drew with the youngest children."

Dr. Dan believes there is no basis for removing any of the children from Peterson's care, as the families of Peterson's missing wife Stacy and former wife Kathleen Savio have suggested.

"The 3 and 4 year olds are physically and emotionally vibrant and are well parented by Drew and the older family members," says Dr. Dan. "These children are in great hands."

Dr. Dan is available for media interviews.

Renowned for what and where?! I don't see a lot for "Dr Dan". Just the fact that he thinks the kids are o.k. and "in great hands" makes me suspicious.

If he's involved in Wisconsin, I found a liquor license request (meeting minutes) by a Daniel Budenz....probably not the same. You never know though w/all of DP's bar connections etc!

LOL Taxi..I think that is his liquor license request. He was on the board of the Chris Farley Foundation and that listed him in WI.. I am laughing for two reasons..he's an addiction specialist, so he was trying to open a bar? Drumming up patients was he? And of course only Drew would pick a therapist that owned a bar. The license was not approved for him and was given to someone else. His daughter wanted to open a bar in a building they already owned. The town said No.

Then I found another year where the town was approving the lease and paying rent to this Dr for use of office space for a human services division..once again in a building he owned.

This is just another publicity stunt hosted by Drew's new publicist..who also knows this guy.

JMHO

As well as owning or having owned the property that the Chris Farley Foundation used, Dr. Daniel T. Budenz and his wife Mrs. Janice L. Budenz, are also property owners in Belleville, Wisconsin. Their Eagle View Ridge LLC, along with a couple of others, own property that is used by the Hoofer Equestrian Center for their Youth Day Camp.
I am not sure of the exact location of the day camp, but the Equestrian Center is located at 1008 Severson Road, Belleville, WI. Presumably, the summer camp is located nearby.
In any case, it takes just under 3 hours to travel from Bolingbrook, IL to Belleville, WI.

I wonder what the possibilities are for hiding a body on that property in late October / early November?

From the HOOFER EQUESTRIAN YOUTH DAY CAMP LIABILITY WAIVER

"I further agree that if my child uses the horseback riding trails on the property owned by Eagle View Ridge LLC, Dr. Daniel T. Budenz, Mrs. Janice L. Budenz, and /or David and Pat Judd, Saddle Ridge, LLC and /or Randy and Angie Mussehl, I will release from liability, indemnify and hold them harmless on account of damages to or loss of personal property, loss of money, sickness, injury, and even death, which might occur while using their property and which result from their ordinary negligence."

It's a pdf form located at:

The Budenz were denied the first liguor license request so in April of 2007 they and their daughter Kimberly (who has a real estate license in Belleville) applied for and received a Reserve Class B Beer/Liquor License for Horse Haven LLC d/b/a Belle Grille, effective April 3, 2007 to June 30, 2007 for 3 E. Main Street basement, enclosed back porch area on the ground floor, and rear yard beer garden. Kimberly was listed as the agent for Horse Haven LLC.
This is the same property that was involved in the first applicatiion. So, the Budenz own this property.

So far, he seems to be a Doctor of Real Estate. I am still curious about that riding trails property.

Are we great sleuthers or what? LOL I had to leave when I first saw that liquor license thing so I didn't have time to research it. How do we know they are the same? I did think the bar coinky-dink was interesting, considering DP's interests. It's in Wisconsin though...so I don't get it.

Now, the big question is...has DP dated Dr. Dan's daughter?

Horse back riding can be therapeutic. If he's a psychiatrist, I can see where owning his own horses would pay off well. It's called hippotherapy. (Don't ask me, I didn't name it that!)

This new addition to the case is mighty suspicious. Damage control? More stupidity is more likely. How in the heck does Drew get these people to come forward for him? He has to have something on them.

My vote is for more stupidity.

I hope he's filed his taxes and packed his clothes. I think he's going for a ride very soon.

"Dr. Dan, who was friends with Peterson 20 years ago and recently reconnected."

When did Drew run that undercover narcotics operation? Is that when Dr. Dan was supposedly working at the Hines VA Hospital in Hines, Cook County, Illinois? That's the VA thats about 35 to 40 minutes from Bolingbrook.

We don't know that he owns the horses, we only know that he is at least partial owner of the property that the Hoofers use for their summer camp.

Yep, that's why I wrote "if".

The problem I have with his analysis is in this statement:

Dr. Dan says the Peterson children know what is happening-appropriate for their ages and abilities.

The whole problem is they (mostly the younger 2) DON'T know what is happening. Why would mommy go on vacation this long without them, and not come back?

Whatever, Dr. Dan.

Those children are going to need professional counseling (hopefully not from Dr. Dan) for many years REGARDLESS of how this plays out. The "mommy is on vacation" thing just makes my blood boil. Like you said, WHY would their mommy "go on vacation" and just never come back? What horrible damage DP has already done to these children!

LOL...I can't believe he still has his license...most substance abuse counselors , and he is one , would be run out of town for owning a bar. But he put all that in the daughter's name. And he does work with all kinds of substance abuse and that includes alcohol. It just is fitting for Drew to have a counselor that isn't known for counseling but more for the properties he owns. Still can't get past the bar..LOL, here in my state he would have lost his license as a substance professional owning a bar...the two just can't co exist. And believe you'd have to look long and hard to get a substance abuse counselor that owns a bar. But I think a lot of this is after Dr Dan was no longer affiliated with the Chris Farley Foundation..meaning now he is freelancing as a therapist...what a hoot.
JMHO

They probably spent the normal 45 minutes with Dr Dan and they were off to Disney World.
JMHO

LOL My IF is in the wrong place, but that's what I meant about Dr Dan for everything. Like Camper says...If, IF, IF. Sorry!

DD, that's the best part, isn't it? Substance abuse therapist/bar owner. lol I also chuckled when I saw the Chris Farley thing. I hope he wasn't HIS doctor because he failed miserably. :(
