Details of Disappearance

Lambert had dinner at her family's residence in Elkton, Florida with one of her brothers during the evening of November 27, 1985. She told her brother that she was going out after the meal; when he inquired as to where, she refused to divulge her destination. Lambert was last seen walking west on Kerri-Lynn Road in St. Augustine, Florida near her home later that night. She has never been seen again.

Lambert's family life was troubled. The Lambert children had been in foster care before due to child abuse, and her brothers had previously run away. She was a seventh-grade student at Ketterlinus Junior High School in St. Augustine, Florida in 1985.

Lambert's case was initially investigated as that of a runaway and some police officers still hold that theory, but most authorities believe that Lambert was abducted by a non-family member some time after leaving her residence in November 1985. She was reportedly close to her mother, and she was looking forward to visiting her relatives for Thanksgiving at the time she disappeared. Witnesses reported seeing at least one unidentified vehicle near Kerri-Lynn Road around the time Lambert was last seen, but evidence was never produced linking anyone to her case. Extensive searches of the area turned up no sign of her or her remains.

One of Lambert's brothers, the last person to see her before she vanished, gave inconsistent stories about the events leading up to her disappearance. Lambert's mother believes her son was threatened by the people who abducted Lambert. This theory has not been substantiated.

Lambert is described as a trusting and happy person who wanted to be liked, but she had few friends at the time of her disappearance. Her father, who was in his seventies at the time of her disappearance, is deceased, and the rest of her family has left Florida. Several possible suspects have been investigated throughout the years in connection with her disappearance, but there have been no arrests. Foul play is possible in Lambert's case.

Some accounts state that Lambert disappeared while walking from a friend's mobile home to her own.
