Body found in search for engineer
Indiana State Police confirmed Wednesday afternoon that a body was found in Wea Creek near the site of a car crash where police were looking for a missing man.
Sgt. Kim Riley declined to speculate whether the body is that of Joel Thomas Saunders, 35, who was last seen Friday night.
Before the body's discovery, troopers searched a gravel pit as well as nearby wooded and sandy areas.
Search teams went by foot and helicopter near where the man's car was found Saturday at the intersection of county roads 150 East and 510 South.
Conservation officers from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources used sonar equipment to scan a pond on the property of Vulcan Materials after a police dog tracked a human scent to the water's edge. The searches yielded no results.

That is so sad.
I really want to hear more on why he was found where he was. This is interesting, but so sad...poor kids.

From a friend who works with him....apparently his friends were with him and got him really trashed at the bar...he left and had the accident. A woman came upon the wreck, saw him walking and called 911. That's all anyone knows until the man checking his fathers house found his body in the creek.
