Lang was discovered dead at about 9 p.m. in a home at 5397 Route 982, where she lived with her father and brother... State police said the house was a known hub of "drug activity" in the village of Peanut.

Samantha's father, James C. Lang Jr., 50, and her brother, James III, 38, were incarcerated at the Westmoreland County Prison at the time of the slaying...

On the day she was killed, police noted "a strong smell of marijuana" inside the one-story home, according to a search warrant affidavit filed before Derry District Judge Mark Bilik. The house appeared to have been ransacked. A rear door apparently had been forced open, and a gray metal safe was left on a bed. A metal lockbox was found on a back porch, Trooper Teko Angellichio disclosed.

Lang's mother, Carol Polo, told WTAE that she's sure somebody knows something about what happened and she hopes that person will decide to come forward now...

Miller said the past five years without her baby sister have been very difficult. But she said the family remains confident that an arrest will be made, and they won't stop fighting for justice.

"Her killer thinks he's gotten away with it, you know? To him, my sister meant nothing, but to us, she was everything. You don't get to take somebody and then live life normally because my life will never be the same, so how dare you live normal," said Miller.

A man long suspected in the 2007 death of 22-year-old Samantha Lang was arrested by state police Wednesday on homicide charges.

Troopers believe Charles Earl Ream, 53, of Derry Township is responsible for Lang’s death at her father’s home.

Ream is being held without bail on charges of homicide, robbery, burglary and theft, according to online court records. He did not speak to reporters as he was led out of the Greensburg station to a police vehicle.
