NJ - Home Invasion Horror, Trenton, 14 Nov 2005

The crime itself occurred in 2005 but one of the perps is finally going on trial now.

The term Home Invasion only recently entered our popular lexicon. It seems like events like these are playing out a lot across the country. Can anyone recall a rash of these types of crimes years ago? I can't. It kind of seems like a new phenomemon:

Trial under way in home invasion, assault case

by Linda Stein/The Times Monday March 31, 2008, 1:02 PM

A jury heard opening arguments Monday in trial for a Trenton woman accused in a home invasion and sexual assault.
Cynthia Anderson, 35, of Watson Street along with three unidentified men allegedly burst into a couple's South Broad Street apartment on Nov. 14, 2005, Assistant Prosecutor Renee Robeson said.
Anderson allegedly pistol-whipped the woman after she refused to perform oral sex on one of the male robbers. The woman complied as Anderson allegedly held the gun on her, Robeson said. The group then left after allegedly stealing money and cell phones, Robeson said.
The victim recognized Anderson and identified her as the perpetrator, Robeson said.
Defense lawyer Ronald Garzio told the jury that there was not enough evidence to convict Anderson. No fingerprints, hair or fibers link her to the crime, he said.

It sounds like these people knew each other maybe? Regardless, it is scary to think of someone just bursting in your home armed and ready for the unimaginable while you are just living your normal life.

Whoa. A woman in on the home invasion. Pretty sure most of the time this occurs when people know there's loot in a house. Usually illegal loot. Not saying this is the case here, but you'll see it involving drugs. Alot of immigrant Asians don't believe in banks and come here and work hard and save. There's large amounts of cash in a house and thery get invaded. Don't ever tell people if you have a lawsuit brewing. You put yourself at risk for home invasion. Everybody thinks ya got a bajillion dollars in the house.
