Hart, then 43, was last seen in Schenectady leaving work on Keyes Avenue Nov. 11. When police first visited Hart's home at the Wade Lupe Townhouses on Nov. 28, they found blood and discovered that Hart's mattress was missing.

Her body was found just a few blocks from my home. I have a hard
time accepting the fact that this actually happened here. It was a very strange place to leave a body, if she was hurt in Schenectady, as they have indicated. God, I hope and pray that the find the monster that did this soon. I keep thinking that I could be riding a bus or walking on the street near the monster who did this!

The trail has grown cold in the grisly killing in 2007 of a city mother and nurse whose decapitated body was found behind a Menands apartment complex...

Hart, 43, was last seen alive at about 7 a.m. Nov. 11, 2007, after leaving her job as a licensed practical nurse at a group home for developmentally disabled adults on Keyes Avenue in Schenectady.

In April 2008, children playing behind a Clifford Road apartment building in Menands found a bag containing her body. The headless body had no hands and feet and had been at the site for some time, authorities said.

Back in February, 2016, police claimed some new evidence and were looking for more help from the public: "Schenectady Police Lieutenant Eric Clifford is issuing an appeal to the public for information that could assist in the investigation."

Denise Hart left a friend’s residence with whom she was staying with on 1/25/15. She never returned. The vehicle she was last seen driving was found completely burned on 1/26/15.

On 1/27/15 she was reported missing to Hartford, CT Police Department by family members.

On 12/22/15 human remains were found off the side of a road in Goshen, VT. An autopsy identified the remains as Denise Hart. Her death was determined to be a homicide. This case remains unsolved.
