Authorities searched the site Thursday where a pleasure boat and barge collided a week earlier, but were unable to find the body of a Hamilton woman who was on the boat.

Mary Hood, 54, has been missing since the March 27 collision involving the boat and a tow that was towing two barges. The collision occurred on Wilson Lake just east of Wilson Dam.

The search was called off early Thursday due to bad weather conditions, emergency officials said. Weather will play a role in deciding if the search will continue today or be postponed.

Hood was among four victims on the boat. The body of 56-year-old Sheffield resident William Hill Jr. was found on March 27. On Sunday, searchers recovered the bodies of Ray Peters, 53, and Patti Jo Manley, 50, both of Hamilton.

How sad. They probably left on their outing all set to have a good time. I wonder whose fault the accident was. Aren't barges really slow?
