SAUK VILLAGE, Ill. (CBS) ― A body was found in the south suburbs Friday, two days after the disappearance of a 15-year-old girl.
Police are still working the scene at 10 p.m. Friday. CBS 2's Dana Kozlov reports the body was discovered Friday afternoon in a wooded area near 223rd Street and Torrence Avenue in Sauk Village.
Sauk Village Police Chief Thomas Lacheta said because of the body's position in a creek, it was impossible to tell if it was that of a male or a female, the age or the race. However, he did say it was discovered Friday afternoon by a village employee just hours after police launched a search for the missing teen.
