There was a body found in the area where Shay is from, but they have determined it is not her. The family has provided me with a new photo of Shay, which is now uploaded on her printable poster as referneced in the above post. Thank you.

This is a segment off of Shay's personal bio, of which a copy is given to those who adopt her:

"She cherished her sons Jacob, 12, whom she called her “man” and Kaleb 7, “her baby” because he was her last. Shay loved being pregnant and wanted more children. She loved her boys and was a devoted and nurturing mother. She enjoyed teaching her sons about nature as they walked the trails of Al Sabo Preserve. They camped for extended periods, and she showed Jacob how to tube behind a boat at the lake. Shay kept extensive photo records of her children’s lives which she had been assembling individual albums for each of her sons before her disappearance.

Shay had expressed a desire to become a nurse, as she enjoyed her work at an assisted living facility in Kalamazoo. She listened eagerly when residents reminisced and stories of days gone by in another time an life."

I wish they would say if this an adult or a child. Ricky Holland disappeared about an hour and a half away from where the remains were found. A park they searched recently is a little closer. Being from that area and living there when Ricky went missing, I'm really interested in this find. If anyone has any info on this, please post.

Mother of missing woman awaits word

    January 19, 2006

Two and a half years after anyone saw Shay Eisenhardt, the 31-year-old's mother hopes there may finally be closure for her family.

Linda Taylor watched Wednesday as investigators combed through a treeline near Bixby Road and Humphrey Street. A day earlier, a 17-year-old walking his dog found what police have described as a nearly-complete human skeleton.

"(I am) hoping that I'm going to see something; hoping that I'm going to watch them pick-up something that, you know, it's the last thing I would see of my daughter," Taylor explained.

The bones were found just blocks from where Shay Eisenhardt was last seen. The mother of two checked out of Borgess Medical Center early in the morning of July 17th after a one night stay.

Her mother has believed from the beginning that Eisenhardt was the victim of foul play. "I personally think that wherever she would have ended up, she was dumped off. I just have to be given some proof otherwise that that's not true."
Police tell News 3 the bones will likely be identified by dental records. Investigators aren't sure how long that could take. Also unclear is how long the bones had been at the site. Answers Taylor anxiously awaits.

"Every time I want to believe it's her,” says Taylor. “Every time I want to believe it's her so we can have closure and face the reality and move on with accepting what has happened and start the healing process of the next stage."

Thank goodness. I hope this will help bring some closure to her sons and family. I hope they find some kind of evidence to help bring her to justice.

Thanks for updating this story hoppyfrog. How sad. At least this family can have some sort of peace now. Hopefully there will be enough clues to figure out what happened to this woman.

It has been confirmed by the family that it is Shay. May God rest her soul and bring peace to her mother and her two young boys. They are having a difficult time of it as one would expect. No cause of death has been determined, and there is a chance they may never know.
