NY - Joseph McAfee, 21, Johnson City, April 2008 - Jumped into river

Authorities pulled their boats from the Susquehanna River around 4:30 p.m. today to conclude Monday's search for a man who jumped from the Route 26 bridge into the Susquehanna River on Saturday night. Vestal police identified the man as Joseph McAfee, 21, of Johnson City. McAfee stopped his vehicle on the Route 26 bridge between Vestal and Endicott, exited his car and jumped into the river, police said.

Rescuers on Thursday continued to search the Susquehanna River for a man who jumped off the Route 26 bridge Saturday, Broome County Emergency Management Coordinator Brett Chellis said.
Police said Joseph McAfee, 21, of Johnson City, jumped from the bridge between Vestal and Endicott. Hundreds of volunteer firefighters, river rescue teams and police have been involved in the search.
Alcohol and an argument may have led to McAfee jumping off the bridge. Below are related articles:

The body located in the Susquehanna River on Sunday, April 27th, at approximately 2:40 pm was in fact Joseph McAfee of Johnson City. A New York State Drivers license and other personal papers were located on the body,
