It has now been four years since a Callaway woman disappeared.

While her husband has not been ruled out as a suspect in her disappearance, authorities have no body and no way of knowing whether a crime was actually committed. The Bay County Sheriff's Office is investigating her case as a homicide.

Eight years ago, Elizabeth Paglaiccetti Prescott went missing after going to the Walmart store in Callaway to buy a birthday cake for her husband. Today, her family is still seeking answers on where she is.

Vincent and Donna Paglaiccetti went to the last place Elizabeth was seen this morning to hand out fliers to attempt to get information on her whereabouts. "It gets hard," said Vincent, "you have to do what we're doing now. You have to rehash and rethink."

:bump: for Elizabeth, missing 9 years this month. :(

Snipped:

There was a wet towel on the floor of the apartment and $50 was missing, but there were no signs of forced entry to the home and no indications of a struggle. Prescott has never been heard from again.

Wonder if this could be connected to Pamela June Ray or other women missing from the area?

Her Charley profile mentions a longtime boyfriend and her husband who both couldn't have been ruled out as suspects.

It's been so long, wish her family would finally get closure.

COLD CASE: Investigators still searching for Elizabeth “Beth” Prescott after 15 years

AR-190209580.jpg

One of Bay County’s oldest cold cases is the disappearance of Elizabeth Prescott.

Her husband Coy Prescott came home from work on April 30th, 2004 to find a wet towel in the bathroom floor and his wife gone.

They were living at Abalone Apartments on Tyndall Parkway in Callaway at the time. But the complex was recently destroyed by Hurricane Michael.

“At the time of making the report back in 2004, nobody had seen from her since he left for work and last saw her,” said Captain Jason Daffin with the Criminal Investigations Division of Bay County Sheriff’s Office. “Since that time, we’ve interviewed multiple people…And so some of these leads we’re still following up on. And, you know, even though this case is from back in 2004, it’s something that all the investigators are aware of.”

Prescott tended to go by Beth, and her maiden name is Pagliacceti. She would be 34 years old today but was 19 on the day she vanished.

She was reportedly 5 feet, two inches tall with blonde hair and blue eyes. But she often wore green-colored eye contacts.

Details of Disappearance
Prescott was last seen between 5:20 and 6:00 a.m. on April 30, 2004, at her home in Abalone Sr. Apartments in the vicinity of the 500 block of north Tyndall Parkway in Panama City, Florida. Her husband saw her before he left for work early that morning. When he returned at 4:00 p.m., she was gone.

There was a wet towel on the floor of the apartment and $50 was missing, but there were no signs of forced entry to the home and no indications of a struggle. Prescott has never been heard from again.

She didn't have access to a vehicle at the time of her disappearance and normally walked everywhere. She also had no credit cards or cellular phone, and she left all her belongings behind.

Authorities initially believed Prescott left of her own accord, but they now think she met with foul play due to the length of time that has passed without contact. Her family believes her longtime boyfriend or her husband, whom she married two months before she went missing, may have been involved in her case.

Neither man has been ruled out as a suspect, but little evidence is available to tie anyone to a crime. Another individual was questioned after he reportedly told friends he had killed Prescott, but his story didn't match certain known facts about her disappearance and he refused to cooperate with investigators.

Prescott's case remains unsolved.

The towel was on the floor or hanging up? Two different versions of this detail.

It was his birthday, but he didn't report his wife missing until the next morning. What did he do for his birthday? Did he go look for his wife? Did he call family or friends?

Snips:
There wasn’t even much of a scene left behind when her husband, Coy Prescott, returned home from work to find a wet towel hanging in the bathroom and the apartment empty.

At her request, he’d called an hour before he left work so she could put the finishing touches on his birthday dinner, but that message was never checked. There were no signs of forced entry, though $50 was gone. The following morning, he reported her missing. Investigators almost immediately suspected foul play.

She split up with Eric Moore, then quickly married Coy Prescott. Why? Pregnant? Destitute? Married on a whim? Maybe Eric didn't want to commit to marriage after all, thus he returned the ring? Sort of sounds like a love triangle here.

Snip:
According to news reports at the time, Elizabeth Prescott’s personal life leading up to her disappearance had been a bit tumultuous. She’d been engaged to a man named Eric Moore. That engagement ended in December 2003 and Prescott quickly married Coy Prescott soon after. She’d been married to Coy Prescott for about two months when she vanished, but under interrogation, Moore said he and Elizabeth Prescott had continued seeing each other. Police records showed that on the day Elizabeth Prescott disappeared, Moore had returned the engagement ring he’d given her, though investigators believe that detail may be coincidental.

I wonder if Coy Prescott still has the same attorney?

Both Coy Prescott and Moore were extensively questioned by investigators. Moore was fully cooperative. As investigators pressed Coy Prescott, they believed they were on the verge of making a breakthrough until he hired an attorney a few days later. He continued to cooperate, answering questions with his attorney present and both men passed a polygraph test.

I wonder if her husband had her declared dead so he could access the funds?

Snip:
Following her disappearance, search and rescue teams scoured the woods around the Callaway apartment complex. Ponds were dragged, K-9s deployed. But no body, no shred of physical evidence was ever found. Bay County Sheriff’s Office investigators suspected foul play — she’d run away before, news reports at the time said, but she always contacted family so they knew she was safe. This was different. No bags were packed. None of the large sums of money accessible to her were touched.

Do you think this detail is odd: her husband "called an hour before he left work so she could put the finishing touches on his birthday dinner."
What does that even mean?

$50 was missing.
Did she still need something for the dinner or to buy a cake? If so, it seems they could have established whether she made it to the store, so I'm assuming she did not.

Charlie Project says her ex returned the ring he bought her that same day (do you think that means he returned to the shop/ jeweler?) but that it could be coincidental. But just my opinion that is a mighty coincidence.

It would be interesting to hear from LE on this one - were the behaviors from her husband as expected?
What about from her ex when informed she was missing or when questioned?

Cold case: Elizabeth Prescott still missing without a trace 17 years later | mypanhandle.com

CALLAWAY, Fla. (WMBB)–It’s been 17 years since a young woman vanished from her home in Callaway. Almost two decades later, and local law enforcement continues to investigate the disappearance of Elizabeth Prescott.

“Sadly in this case there was just no evidence or no clue of where she had gone or what happened,” said Lt. Jeremy Mathis, with the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.

19-year-old Elizabeth Prescott seemingly went missing without a trace. She was last seen by her husband in the early morning hours of April 30th, 2004.

Coy Prescott came home to what used to be the Abilene apartment complex where he and Elizabeth had been living. He found nothing but a wet towel on the bathroom floor and Elizabeth missing. There were no signs of forced entry but Prescott noticed $50 was missing. He later called 911.

“Didn’t know where she went, wasn’t evident that she had taken a lot of stuff with her and so that kind of got us concerned,” Lt. Mathis said.

The Bay County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation that’s still open to this day. All their findings are on standby in the Sheriff’s Office evidence room, but there are no concrete leads to go off of.

“We would follow those leads as soon as would get them but we were never able to substantiate them,” Lt. Mathis said.

Investigators say they still revisit the case but are left with more questions than answers.

“Is there anything we can do to try and move this case forward to get that one piece of information that will help us catapult this case to an end?” Lt. Mathis said.

Elizabeth would be 36 today. She was 5 foot 2 inches and had blonde hair and blue eyes at the time of her disappearance. She was 110 pounds and often wore contact lenses that were tinted green.

Her family is still optimistic that she is out there. They have posted on social media, asking for her to come home.

“We don’t forget about these cases, they don’t go away, this is still an open case and we would love to be able to provide some closure to the family,” Lt. Mathis said.

If you know anything about the disappearance of Elizabeth Prescott, you’re encouraged to call the Bay County Sheriff’s Office at (850) 747-4700 or Panhandle Crime Stoppers at (850) 785-TIPS.
