NJ - Community Rallies In Support Of Charged Coach

This girl's accusation sounds a little fishy and far-fetched. Wonder if something else is going on here as far as an ulterior motive...

If that's not the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard of... How can anyone, especially LE, take this seriously?!

I was wondering why anyone even believed the teen girl and then read that her dad is a cop. That explains it. I do think the coach may be a little hotheaded though. I can't imagine some "taller than Denzel" grown man grabbing a teen girl because she was scaring a little boy. Seems like that would scare the little boy even worse. The whole school sounds out of control. Heated altercations with students, alternative school as a result, grabbing teen girls from behind, yelling little kids being brought to work, racial BS, and blaming everything on a failing sports team.

You have to remember that when these things unfold in front of you, you act. If someone was chasing a little boy and he looked scared, my initial instinct would be to intervene. I know the coach personally - he is not what anyone would call "hotheaded." He has a very reserved temperament. If you would paint a picture of the type of person who would intentionally touch a child in an inappropriate way, that picture would in no way resemble him. He is so NOT that guy.

I have to liken this to kicking children out of school for plastic butter knives, pictures of guns and giving away Tylenol...it takes "zero tolerance" to the level of nonsense and makes a mockery of a serious issue.

There are problem several children at that school who have been date raped or sexually abused by a family member or friend, and yet LE's time is wasted with this foolishness.

I am one to "ALWAYS" believe the child but this time, I think she may be just plain stupid. I want to know what she was doing to the 6 year old to make him cry or what was going on there.

Sounds like he was just stepping in to stop her from bothering the little kid... I think the bigger focus should be on her and what she was doing to the kid.

I can MORE than believe a grown man would have grabbed the girl for scaring the boy - I WOULD HAVE TOO. You don't think of anything but the situation and go into "kid protect mode." CYA doesn't enter your mind. The whole "sexually gratifying" thing is stupid.

An amazing, awesome male teacher in my high school took many kids tubing on the river and stayed many hours afterschool doing science clubs and was just so interactive and great... but because of this wonderful teacher's dedication to the kids, when one girl lied about his attentions, the whole town wigged out and he was fired and treated like an evil person. No WONDER no other teacher takes the kids to do fun things anymore. I had graduated and moved out of town by the time this all went down and didn't know until it was over. I wish I'd have been there to rally at his side - but people are so quick to judge that I don't believe it would have helped.
    FUN... is a renewable resource!
