MO - Brandi Mathews, 24, Osage Beach, Sept 2006
OSAGE BEACH, Mo. - Osage Beach police are seeking help from the public in locating a 24-year old woman who has been missing for nearly 21 months. Officials suspect foul play is involved.
Brandi June Mathews has not been in contact with her family since September 2006. Law enforcement officials said Mathews is known to have been living in the Lake of the Ozarks area the last time she was seen, but they have been unable to determine her current whereabouts.
Det. Terry Deffenbaugh said Mathews mother, who lives in Arkansas, contacted the department on March 19 in an attempt to find information about her daughter.
Mathews was last known to be working as a dancer at several gentlemen's clubs in the Lake area, using the name “Faith.”
Officials believe she was involved with the local drug culture and was using the dancing job as a means of supporting herself.

I grew up in Springfield, MO about an hour and a half from The Lake. I have gone to the outlet malls in Osage several times and spent several weekends at Lake of the Ozarks. It would be a very easy place to hide a body. Lots of secluded, wooded areas and of course - the lake.
Is there any indication as to way her mother waited so long to report her missing? She went missing in Sept 2006, her mother reported her missing March 2008.'The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated'

Thank you Capoly. Very sad but I am glad she is finally found.
Jasmine Haslag went missing outside of Eldon in '07 - she was also involved in the drug culture in that area too. I wonder if there could be any connection.
I had good friends who grew up in Eldon and there is a lot of drug activity in that area.'The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated'

Investigation Continues as Family Mourns
Brandi Mathews disappeared back in 2006, now the family looks for closure.
Brandi Mathews went missing in September of 2006. Her remains were found at the beginning of January in Miller County near Eldon.
Saturday her family and the Missouri Missing organization held a memorial service. Friends and family say even though it was hard to hear the news that the remains found were Brandi's it brought them closure. They say having the memorial was a way to celebrate her life as well as let people know how precious life is. Brandi's mother, Deanna Roberts has been working with Missouri Missing since her daughter's disappearance and made the trip all the way from Arkansas.
Friends told me she was a very well liked person who never had an enemy. Bill Abbott, Miller County Sheriff, says right now three agencies are working on the case.
Osage Beach Police are also involved in the investigation and have focused on Mathew's ex- boyfriend, Kelly Simino.

Candles flicker n memory of Brandi Mathews
Eldon, Mo. - Family and friends of Brandi Mathews gathered together this weekend to pay tribute to the memory of the young woman who “loved to fish and make people smile.”
The service was held in Eldon on Saturday afternoon, hosted by her family members and Missouri Missing. Mathews’ remains were found in January just outside Eldon.
For more than two years, Mathews was one of the more than 1,400 missing Missourians. At the time of her death, Mathews was involved in relationship with a man who was reportedly involved in drug trafficking in the lake area.
Her death and the investigation into her disappearance and murder have drawn public attention to her plight and that of her mother, Deanna Roberts, who persevered in her efforts to find out what happened to her daughter.
Roberts spoke briefly at the service, sharing her memories and her grief, saying it was hard to believe she would never see her daughter again.
She and Mathew’s bother, Colby Callahan, shared the frustration and emptiness that comes from losing a loved one and living with the constant reminder that there may never be final closure.
While the service drew many who knew Mathews, there were those whose connection to her have come as a result of her disappearance and murder.
Detective Tracey Robinett first met Mathew’s mom last year when she came to the Osage Beach Police Department hoping to find someone who would help find her daughter. Robinett, along with Kevin Friend of the OBPD, have been working with Mathews’ mother and now with the Miller County Sheriff’s Department, hoping to solve the case.
Robinett said over the course of tracing Mathews’ life, he has come to know a lot about her. Her death was a senseless, violent act. Although there aren’t any answers yet to explain why it happened, Robinett said, the determination of Roberts and her courage to do what was right and fight for her daughter’s memory will ensure that Mathews is not forgotten and the investigation is not dropped.
Miller County Sheriff Bill Abbott said his department will be working with the Morgan County sheriff and the Osage Beach Police Department “doing everything they can to bring Mathews’ killer to justice.”

For one Camdenton man, an upcoming 5K at Linn Creek City Park is about much more than running 3.1 miles, it is about his sister...
Before she went missing, according to the Miller County Sheriff's Department, Mathews reported at least six domestic assaults involving Kelly Simino from January through August of 2006 across several law enforcement jurisdictions. During that time period, she was given an ex parte order of protection and assisted investigators from several law enforcement agencies in collecting information against Simino for drug-related crimes. Mathews requested the order of protection in August 2006 in Pettis County, only one month before she was last seen alive. Callahan says he thinks that if Simino would not have been told that she filed the order, his sister may still be alive...
A Laclede County judge sentenced Simino, of Eldon, to 20 years in prison for the 2006 murder of Mathews.
