    13-year-old patient assaulted in hospital

    A 13-year-old girl was taken from her room at Bellevue Hospital on Friday morning and sexually assaulted by an unidentified man, police said.

    The victim was led into a conference room at approximately 7:15 a.m., where she was assaulted, they said.

    The girl had been admitted to the hospital for eye surgery and remains hospitalized after the attack, which left her with injures to her face and spine, according to a report on television station NY1's Web site.

    Hospitals have a very high turnover in personnel, most of whom work for various registries and are really employees of the temporary agencies. There are lots of entry ways and dozens and dozens of visitors. Many of the jobs are low paying and high stress.
    If anyone knew her vision was impaired, she would be an easy victim since a description of her attacker would not be available, only forensic evidence.
