I'm sure the guy was angry about having to pay the $100. However, why does it matter if he paid in pennies and rumpled bills. At least he paid. Geez. Money is money, right?

Yeah, last I checked, pennies are still legal tender.

When I was in college, there was always some kid or another in the news for paying their tuition in pennies. They'd show them at the bursar's office with a wheelbarrow full of them. They said it was to protest the rising rates. As far as I know, their payments were accepted.
 
It's legal tender to be "offered" for payment, but private business has the right to refuse.

When was the last time anyone expected the person who delivered your pizza to have change for or to pay with a 50's or hundred's?
 
I can see this man taking this fight up to a higher court, he is pissed and I agree with him.

Pennies are money. PERIOD.
