The Augusta County Sheriff's Office is searching for a missing woman who has not been seen for three months.

Thirty-five-year-old Margaret Gail-Stamper White was last seen in mid-May, but her family did not report her missing until July 29, which is making it hard for officials to look for her.

Augusta County Sheriff Randy Fisher has confirmed that she is Charles Spencer's girlfriend. Spencer was a suspect in the 2003 murder case of JoAnne Spencer, but he was never arrested or stood trial for it. The murder case has never been solved.

"The White case remains a top priority — and a “thorn in the side” — of Sgt. A.C. Powers of the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office. White was last seen by her live-in boyfriend, Charles Melvin Spencer, who was a suspect five years ago in the murder of his former wife, Jo Ann Spencer, according to a search warrant.

Powers is working both cases, which he said might be connected."

The article above is a compilation of cases and Margaret Gail-Stampers is included.

"The live-in girlfriend of a Crimora man who was named as a prime suspect in his former wife's still unsolved murder nearly five years ago, hasn't been seen in months, police said..."

"She has no driver's license, no vehicle, no bank account, no credit card and she left her cell phone behind,"

A Crimora man behind bars on a slew of charges will stay there for the time being. Charles Melvin Spencer is suspected of attempting to kill his live-in girlfriend.

Spencer was already denied bond in Augusta Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court on attempted second degree murder charges in June. Tuesday, another judge denied him bond on gun charges and drug charges.

He will be back in court later this month on strangulation and attempted second degree murder charges for trying to kill his live-in girlfriend.

This is the same Charles Spencer who was a suspect in his wife's murder. Joann Spencer's body was found six weeks after she first went missing in December of 2003. No arrests were ever made in the case.

I don't know why this article confuses me so much, but I think this is a third case? i.e. he is being charged with the attempted murder of an unnamed girlfriend, is suspected of killing Margaret, and his wife Joann.

Charles Spencer has been found guilty of murdering his wife, Jo Ann Spencer, in 2003.

http://www.newsleader.com/story/news/local/2016/10/05/closing-arguments-begin-county-murder-case/91599188/

Almost 13 years after the body of his wife was dumped on a remote West Virginia mountain, an Augusta County jury sentenced 69-year-old Charles "Melvin" Spencer to life in prison Wednesday after finding him guilty of first-degree murder, ending a two-day trial.

Spencer had long been a suspect in the slaying of his wife, 56-year-old Joanne Spencer, but authorities didn't charge him until this year.

Questions still remain in the disappearance of Spencer's former girlfriend, a West Virginia woman who began living at his home in 2007. Margaret Gail-Stamper White, 35, hasn't been seen by family or friends since 2008. The case remains unsolved.

Anyone who may have information regarding the whereabouts of White should contact the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office at 540-245-5333 or submit a tip through this database.

Details of Disappearance

White was last seen at her home in the 50 block of Spencer Lane in Crimora, Virginia on May 13, 2008. She has never been heard from again.

Her family in West Virginia didn't report her missing until July 29, six weeks after her disappearance. They stated that although White occasionally dropped out of sight for short periods, it's uncharacteristic of her to be out of touch with them for very long or to miss family functions. She missed her son's high school graduation, her daughter's sixteenth birthday and her grandmother's funeral after her disappearance.

White's live-in boyfriend at the time of her disappearance was Charles Melvin Spencer. Charles is considered the prime suspect in the shooting death of his wife of over thirty-five years, JoAnne. She disappeared from home in December 2003 and her body was found six weeks later in a remote wooded area of McDowell County, West Virginia. Charles and White are both from that area.

Charles has never been charged and the homicide remains unsolved. He maintains his innocence in JoAnne's murder and stated they had a typical marriage and loved each other. Charles remarried, but in 2007 his second wife, Theresa, filed for an order of protection and accused him of choking her three times and threatening to kill her with a knife. Theresa has since left the state, but she and Charles remain legally married.

Charles and White lived in the same house JoAnne disappeared from, and White and her family were aware of the manner of JoAnne's death. Charles maintains his innocence in White's disappearance and says he thinks she just left him. He said he went to bed one night and when he woke up the next morning, White was gone.

Charles was cooperative when he was first interviewed by police and he let them look around inside his house, but he ceased cooperation after that.

White had no bank account or credit cards at the time of her disappearance, and she left most of her belongings, including her cellular phone, money and earrings, behind. Charles stated she only took two sweatshirts, jeans and flip-flops. She had no driver's license and no access to a vehicle or any other means of transportation at the time of her disappearance. Her hobbies include fishing and spending time with her children.

Investigators believe foul play was involved in White's disappearance, which remains unsolved.
