    Question

Since I am now working on the 3rd installment of my DoeNet videos, which song should I use? I've already used "I Will Remember You" by Sarah Mclachlan and "If I Could Be Where You Are" by Enya.

I was thinking of using "Goodbye My Lover" but I'm not sure after hearing some of it...

    "Nemo"---Nightwish

    This is me for forever
    One of the lost ones
    The one without a name
Without an honest heart as compass

    This is me for forever
    One without a name
    These lines the last endeavor
    To find the missing lifeline

    Oh how I wish
    For soothing rain
All I wish is to dream again
    My loving heart
    Lost in the dark
For hope I'd give my everything

    My flower
    Withered between
    The pages two and three
The once and forever bloom gone with my sins

    Walk the dark path
    Sleep with angels
    Call the past for help
    Touch me with your love
And reveal to me my true name

Granted, Nightwish isn't for everyone...Also check out the lyrics for "Bless the Child", thats where I got the line "Think of me long enough to make a memory".

    Skid Row's "I Remember You".....

And, of course, Jim Croce's "I Got a Name"...

Like the pine trees linin the windin road
Ive got a name, Ive got a name
Like the singin bird and the croakin toad
Ive got a name, Ive got a name
And I carry it with me like my daddy did
But Im livin the dream that he kept hid
    Movin me down the highway
    Rollin me down the highway
Movin ahead so life wont pass me by...

Sorry, get me started on music, I don't know when to shut up.

Actually, looking at the list of songs on the "City of Angles" soundtrack, there are a bunch that would work well. "Iris" is on there too.

Where in the world? by Great Lake Swimmers

I've been looking in churches and looking in bars
Thought that I saw you in the oncoming cars
It was your reflection cast off by the light
And into the sky of this dark city night

And I thought that I saw you in the tallest of trees
Swayed back and forth in the mid-autumn breeze
When the leaves reddened and left too
I knew then that it wasn't you

Where in the world are you now?
Where in the world are you now?
Oh where in the world are you?
Oh where in the world are you?
Where in the world are you now?

And I looked for you there in music and song
'Cause I thought I could find you there
They were only notes pulled from the air
Not the kind I could read or breathe if I dare

Where in the world are you now?
Where in the world are you now?
Oh where in the world are you?
Oh where in the world are you?
Where in the world are you now?

It's a beautiful song, very dramatic and emotional.

    Miss You Nights
    by Cliff Richard
(this is covered well by Rick Springfield on The Day After Yesterday)

    I've had many times
    I can tell you
Times when innocence I'd trade for company
    And children saw me crying
I thought I'd had my share of that
    But these miss you nights
    Are the longest

    Midnight diamonds
    Stud my heaven
    Southward burning
Lie the jewels that eye my place
    And the warm winds
    That embrace me
Just as surely kissed your face
    Yeah these miss you nights
    Are the longest

    How I miss you
    I'm not likely to tell
I'm a man and cold day light
Buys the pride I'd rather sell
    All my secrets
    Are wasted affair
    You know them well

    Thinking of my going
    How to cut the thread
    And leave it all behind
    Looking windward for my compass
I take each day as it arrives
    But these miss you nights
    Are the longest

Lay down all thought of your surrender
It's only me who's killing time
Lay down all dreams and themes once remembered
    It's just the same
    This miss you game
    Yeah these miss you nights
    Are the longest

Also, consider Jamie's Secret by David Wilcox (although it may be a bit too much of a story song for your purposes)

Near river bend where the stream runs clear
One winter morning of a day last year
I heard a secret that I now can say
    Concerning Jamie, who's past away

If you had known her then you'd agree
Her smiling eyes could make a blind man see
She laughed with innocence and she moved with style
Full grown lover with childlike smile

She moved out West where the air is clean
    To study poetry at Evergreen
I thought I'd see her in a year or two
    Till we heard rumors
    That I feared were true

They never found where she went that night
The man she lived with said they'd had a fight
She left that cabin to walk alone
    He kept the light on
    But she never came home

She must have gone by the riverside
The searchers say that's how she must have died
The winter water was cold with snow
    An icy boulder
    And down she'd go

Well I heard the news but I could not cry
I should be shattered but my eyes were dry
To feel no sorrow was my surprise
    But the words came easy
    For those last good-byes

Till I took a walk by the riverbend
Where once we lingered when she was my friend
I tried to melt the river of tears inside
    The river flowed
    But joy I cried

She may be gone from this life we know
She may have frozen in the ice and snow
But there's a secret that my heart can't tell
    Except to say
    That she's safe and well

Near river bend where the stream runs clear
One winter morning of a day last year
I heard a secret that I now can say
    Concerning Jamie, who's passed away

To Where You Are by Josh Groban

He sang it at one of the funerals for one of the Columbia astronaut killed and it is the most wonderful song.

Josh Groban, To Where You Are

    Who can say for certain
    Maybe you’re still here
I feel you all around me
    Your memories so clear

    Deep in the stillness
    I can hear you speak
    You’re still an inspiration
    Can it be (? )
    That you are mine
    Forever love
And you are watching over me from up above

Fly me up to where you are
    Beyond the distant star
    I wish upon tonight
    To see you smile
If only for awhile to know you’re there
    A breath away’s not far
    To where you are

    Are you gently sleeping
    Here inside my dream
    And isn’t faith believing
    All power can’t be seen

    As my heart holds you
    Just one beat away
I cherish all you gave me everyday
    ’cause you are mine
    Forever love
    Watching me from up above

    And I believe
    That angels breathe
And that love will live on and never leave

    Fly me up
    To where you are
    Beyond the distant star
    I wish upon tonight
    To see you smile
    If only for awhile
    To know you’re there
    A breath away’s not far
    To where you are

    I know you’re there
    A breath away’s not far
    To where you are
    John 3:16

Everyday it is my fervent prayer that these cases are solved
