OK, I realize that 99% of what Casey Anthony says is a half-truth at best, still, I've been re-listening to Casey's phone call to Lee @ end of July that includes info on her other (i.e. "BlackJack") cell phone.

IF, we play along for a minute, and, indeed, there WAS another cell phone (i.e. "BlackJack" or other) Casey appears to be TRYING to tell Lee that she tossed her cell phone @ Universal Park when she was taken their by LE, 7/16. She indicates the last time she had it for "certain" was when she was in through the park "in through the park talking to a couple of mutual friends", and "it wasn't necessarily fun" and "not through work". At this point she knows the calls are made public and must try to get the point across indirectly.

She later indicates that these "mutual friends" are the ONLY ones she talked to about Caylee missing. The two names she gives are complete fabrications (oh, how ironic) and she disagree’s with the spelling of Juliet to try to clue Lee into what she is trying to tell him, but, he doesn't get it (i.e. the “mutual friends” are the LE that accompanied her 7/16)!

She also indicates "J Blanchard Park" as a potential place she lost it too to try to clue Lee into what she is trying to tell him - as in places she's been escorted around to w/ LE 7/15-7/16, but, he doesn't get it.

She is VERY emphatic about telling him how it might've been lost "that's the thing...if it fell out of my bag...if it fell out of my pocket [LONG PAUSE i.e. "DON’T YOU GET IT?!?!?].

My hope is that LE figured this out some time ago and retraced Universal route they took on 7/16 (i.e. Did she go to a restroom unmonitored?), and checked the lost-and-found @ Universal for any/all cell phones. IF there indeed was another cell phone Casey used, regardless of what type, it may have been tossed in a place where it would be hard to tie back to its original owner.

Casey may have stolen the second cell phone to use when she needed to go undetected, and, hence, didn't have a charger to use. J.P. Chatt immediately went shopping for an iPhone the day he returned from Puerto Rico, suggesting that something had happened to his phone.

J.P.’s phone records would be worth a search.

Dunno about the compatibility of the sim chip between Casey’s phone and the other phone. Maybe just a complete ruse there.

Perhaps not new ideas, but, just in case, I thought they were worth sharing.

I think that is a good theory. She does talk in circles though, so it is really hard to tell what the heck she is saying.

Here's the thing ... I don't buy the switched the SIM card between phones story ... I had given a friend one of my old cell phones to use so they didn't have to buy one. When I got a new phone they'd get my old one to replace the current one they were borrowing. Everytime they switched phones, we would have to contact the wireless carrier. They always requested the number on the SIM card and the info from the phone to activate it.

Unless technology changed, I don't see how she could get by without contacting her carrier each time she swapped back & forth to the "BlackJack".

I figure the switched sim card was just a last minute lie to try to throw LE off attempting to find another phone with another # that would generate records of evidence and tower ping info. I'd really like to know if LE followed up w/ Universal.

Very interesting theory, BJB!

i think you could be onto something here. but how do you know lee didn't get it?

Even if they could not find the phone though, they would still be able to get the phone records from the phone company. I wish they would release where the phone pings were throughout that month, so people would know where to search....

I recently had a replacement phone sent and all I did was swap the SIM card from the old one to the new and it worked fine. Granted they were the same phone.

BUT, my brother recently returned to the States for a month and he could not get his 2 year old phone activated because the SIM card was screwed up. His old phone was an AT&T phone, we have AT&T and I gave him the SIM card out of my daughter's phone. Same thing, put the SIM from daughter's into brother's phone and it worked perfectly fine the whole month he was home. No calls to AT&T at all in either situation.

I have AT&T and bought a new phone yesterday. Switched the SIM from my Razor to this new (8525 Windows phone for AT&T) and it has worked just fine with no need to call into my carrier though they INSISTED I would have to. I did the same thing several years ago.

True, but, ONLY if LE were looking into them.

(Trying hard to stay on-topic for this thread) If JP were in Puerto Rico and LE was convinced he was clean, then, his cell records might not get searched. That being said, obviously his statement hasn't been released, so perhaps this is already well trod ground for LE by now. It be an easy 10 minute search for them. Calls/pings from his cell in FL while he's in PR (bingo).

I wouldn't blame LE for not giving credibility to any of her stories, but, this is one I'd really like to believe they've pulled the string on.

My 15 year old son switched his SIM card to other cell phones and worked everytime!

OK. If any credibility is given to the SIM switcharoo it would just throw LE off of researching a different number (e.g. JP's) for evidence. Why believe the SIM story as the single truth outta the whole story she told?????????

Sorry, wanted to add that the cell phones were completely different, and the phones themselves through different companies.

Entertaining this theory... if it was a prepaid phone, a phone on someone else's account that LE is not aware of, or a borrowed or stolen phone that they haven't connected her to, they would NOT have the records. That's *why* prepaid phones are often used in drug deals, etc - once tossed successfully, it's *almost* impossible to connect that person to that phone (unless you have video of them buying or taking posession of it, etc.)

So, that part does "float" for me.

I want to say, but would have to ask my son, that when he called me with it, it came up as his number in the different phone.

I have to say, that I think you may have something that makes sense about her "code" to Lee.

Well, I guess I would now have to say that Casey's SIM story is plausible ...

Interesting theory - that does make sense of that cryptic phone call.

This is just a minor point, but the new Apple I-phones were just being released when JP returned. My co-worker was on a mission to get his, ordering it in advance, waiting in line to get it, etc., since he (and many others) believe it is an amazing phone (toy!) That could have very well been the case with JP, and nothing else.

Precisely!

Now, without trying to give too much credit to Casey for thinking through all the angles...if it were a prepaid phone it would generally seem in her best interest that it stay lost forever. But, if she'd been lazy and used JP's... she's bright enough to realize that when JP discovers it missing now that the jig is up his records will be searched and...bingo.
