GUILTY NY - Gloria Odrzywski for child abuse, Auburn, 2008

A 10 month old baby girl has severe head injuries and will most likely suffer permanent injury all thanks to her daycare provider.

LE arrested Gloria Odrzywski aged 61 after an investigation. Sad is the babies parents took her for medical care and it was diagnosed as flu like symptoms. When they persisted they found the injuries.

Poor little baby doll.

The medical staff mistook shaken baby syndrome for flu like symptoms? That is horrifying in itself!

October 2009:

A 62-year-old Auburn grandmother on Tuesday was sentenced to weekends in jail for the next 90 days for shaking a baby in her care so hard that she caused bleeding to the child's brain and retina in August 2008...

Odrzywolski pleaded guilty last month to felony reckless assault of a child as part of a plea bargain. That deal also called for her to serve five-years probation and complete 120 hours of community service. She was also banned from ever taking care of any other children other than her grandchildren...

Valentino said he based sentencing on the fact that Odrzywolski had never been in trouble before, and because she's 62 and took responsibility for recklessly causing the child's injuries.
