Victoria Police are still trying to identify the body.

Victoria Police are yet to identify a body found in a burning bin in the Melbourne suburb of Keysborough.

Fire fighters found the badly burnt body early Sunday morning behind a restaurant.

Late yesterday police said the victim was a woman of Asian appearance.

Police say the woman was murdered, but do not know if she died before or during the fire.

They say the Asian woman was aged between 30 and 45 years old, and was about 160 centimetres tall, with shoulder length dark hair.

Homicide detectives have charged a 50 year old man from the Melbourne suburb of Richmond with the murder of Van Nguyen.

The 23 year old woman's charred remains were found in a dumpster in the Melbourne suburb of Keysborough dumpster last Sunday.

Tai Schum Tang was remanded in custody after being charged with murder.

A man who killed a woman and put her body in a rubbish skip that he poured petrol in and set alight, has been jailed for 21 years.

Justice Terry Forrest described Tai Shum Tang's attempts to conceal the crime as "amateurish" in addition to saying the 52-year-old had showed no remorse for the death of 23-year-old Van Nguyen two years ago...

Tang was ordered to serve a minimum of 16 years' before he will be eligible for parole.
