    FL - Marcia Hulihan, 50, Sebastian, 7 Sept 2008

Trained dogs search for missing Sebastian woman

SEBASTIAN — The last time Allison Lapierre saw her missing sister was at a funeral for another sister in May.
"She just disappeared off the face of the earth," Lapierre, who lives in Maine, said about her missing oldest sister, 50-year-old Marcia Hulihan of Sebastian. "I would have hoped someone would have come forward by now with some information. Not knowing is terrible."
Cadaver dogs found nothing of note Friday in a search of Hulihan's apartment complex. The dogs, provided by the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, searched the grounds of Pelican Isle Apartments, where Hulihan lives. There's been no sign of her since Sept. 7, a day on which she had her car towed to a local garage, Sebastian police said.

Police have no leads in case of missing Sebastian woman

There’s been no developments and no activity on any of her accounts,” Sebastian police spokesman Steve Marcinik said.
The date of her disappearance holds few clues as to where Hulihan would have gone, police said. Her confirmed activities that day include calling off from work, having her car towed to a local garage and making a phone call to her son, Christopher Hulihan Jr., who was away at college, Sebastian police said. Phone records obtained by the police showed no other significant phone calls, Marcinik said.
Hulihan is a divorcee and the eldest of five
“We’re all dealing with it in our own ways,” said one of Hulihan’s sisters, Alison Lapierre, who lives in Maine. “It’s been really difficult for her son.”

SEBASTIAN — A pair of cadaver dogs joined the search Friday for a Sebastian woman who has been missing for nearly three weeks.

The dogs, provided by the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, are searching the grounds of Pelican Isle Apartments, where 50-year-old Marcia Hulihan had lived. There's been no sign of her since Sept. 7, a day on which she had her car towed to a local garage, police said. Co-workers at Wal-Mart said Hulihan called that day and said she wouldn't be showing up for work.

"There's no indication she is deceased," Sebastian police spokesman Steve Marcinik said, "but this is part of the due diligence being done by the detectives. There's been no other clues of her whereabouts since she disappeared."

Hulihan is described as a white female, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 100 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes

Hulihan, the eldest of five sisters, is described as a white female, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 100 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. The divorcee has lived alone at the apartments since her son, Christopher Hulihan Jr., left the area for college earlier this year, Lapierre said.

"She's not the type to just walk away," Lapierre said.

The Sheriff's Office is one of the few agencies in the area with cadaver dogs, Brevard Cpl. Chris Wood said. He has a chocolate Labrador retriever named Sherlock and a German shepherd named Baron trained to pick up the scent of decomposing human bodies, he said.

Anyone with information on Hulihan's disappearance should call Sebastian police at (772) 589-5233.

Death of Sebastian woman who went missing in September ruled accidental drowning

State officials have ruled the death of a woman who went missing last September as an accidental drowning, according to her family.

The family of Marcia Hulihan said they are still making plans for a memorial for the woman, who lived in Sebastian until her death last year. Hulihan, 50, was reported missing by her family after she disappeared on Sept. 7. Her remains were found Jan. 31 in a watery canal near her home at Pelican Isle Apartments.

What the heck was she doing there?

To be honest, all of these "accidental" drownings are NOT that, IMO.

If I ever end up in a "watery canal", you can be assured that I didn't just wander there.
