The CHILD Project Massachusetts first State to fully implement Iris Biometric Technology.

The CHILD (Children’s Identification and Location Database) Project is a secure nationwide network and registry that enables law enforcement and social service agencies to locate and positively identify missing children and adults with iris biometric recognition technology.

Participation is entirely voluntary, just as it is now with fingerprint and photo ID card programs. Once a person’s iris is scanned, their identity and demographic information is uploaded to a national register maintained by the National Missing Children’s Organization and Center for Missing Adults.

The Child Project is offered through the Sheriff's Department of each Massachusetts County.

Masonic Youth Child ID Program (MYCHIP)

MYCHIP (Masonic Youth Child Identification Program) has identified more than 250,000 children since its inception in 1988, and it continues to assist families today. The program provides tools to help law enforcement authorities find and identify a lost or missing child. The Masons of Massachusetts, partnering with the Massachusetts Crime Prevention Officers Association and the Massachusetts Dental Association, donate MYCHIP resources to make this service available to the public. None of the information is copied and all the identifying materials are given to the child's family.

The Free Program Material

VIDEOTAPE: A brief videotaped interview that can be quickly distributed to the media in order to reach a huge audience.

FINGERPRINTING: Fingerprinting is a well-known means of identification. Resourceful parents keep fingerprints available should the need arise.

Domestic Violence Programs
If you are a victim of abuse, you are NOT alone, you are not to blame and you cannot control the actions of your abuser. There is more help available to you (and your children) than ever before. You, and only you, can make the decision to change or permanently end the abusive relationship you endure on a daily basis. No one deserves to be abused. Listed below are numerous domestic violence programs available across Massachusetts.

For counseling services, support groups, and advocacy services, please call the nearest domestic violence program 24 hours a day:

Jane Doe Inc.

The Massachusetts Coalition Against Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence

As the only statewide membership sexual and domestic violence coalition in Massachusetts, Jane Doe Inc. (JDI) has a unique role in working to promote the safety, liberty, and dignity of victims and survivors. Drawing from the experiences of our members and our relationships with other partners, JDI works to:

Create social change by addressing the root causes of sexual and domestic violence and by promoting safety, justice, and healing for survivors,
Advocate for responsive public policy, promote collaboration, and raise public awareness,
Provide support to the Coalition’s members that provide comprehensive prevention and intervention services,
Make an impact on public opinion concerning the issue of sexual and domestic violence.

Achieving our goals involves working on two tracks to both prevent and respond to violence. On the more practical level, we provide trainings, networking opportunities, materials, organizing campaigns, and leadership on policy and systems change. On the other more conceptual level, we incubate ideas and frameworks to help keep the movement to address and end sexual and domestic violence moving forward. Ultimately, our work aims to support the independence, human rights, and dignity of victims and survivors everywhere.

We invite anyone and everyone to join us in taking a stand against sexual and domestic violence and finding ways to make a difference for victims and their children.
