A court event where defendants are notified of their rights and the charges against them. They plead guilty or not guilty

She has made no calls, as of this morning. Casey has limited her video visitations to her parents, Cindy and George, and her brother, Lee, but as of this morning, none has visited."

Looks like Baez will be busy reading and trying to find a different approach when he sees the forensics and other evidence against Casey.

Blame the media, your PR dude, Law Enforcement, State Attorney, anyone you wish, Mr. Baez! It's not working for you.

Does this mean she is waiving her right for arraignment?
To answer your question....yes JB has waived her arraignment so Judge Strickland will just set it for a Pretrial conference.

Darn, I was so hoping to hear some more of those "Sweetheart" phone conversations between KC and CA.

They may be trying to "clean things up" a bit to keep the rest of them out of jail. (although I believe GA cut a deal with the FBI before the GJ hearing)

The Pretrial is a hearing where the State and Defense decide if case is ready for a trial or a plea.

Here is a great explanation for it...

Lee would have to put down his action figure toys first.
Well, both George & Cindy have declared how much they love their

You cannot waive an arraignment because it always triggers the next set of proceedings.

I think you're thinking of the fact that Casey's "appearance" has been waived at arraignment in the past. That waiver is allowing Baez to appear there on her behalf and enter pleas of not guilty. (even tho' defendant's appearance has been waived.)

Sorry to be a stickler...I can't help it.

Somebody either counsel or Casey has to enter the plea of not guilty. You can say it's "waived" I guess, but it really happened. The forms are filed...

Right, if Casey's input is so necessary to the defense strategy JB needs to spend about 4-6 hours a day, 5 days a week with KC. I have a feeling jail is not a place he can take more than an hour of. He needs to talk some sense into her and tell her to reveal Caylee's location instead of sticking to her ridiculous unbelievable, incredible and ludicrous story. Ultimately, I believe it would be in her best interest to come clean.

I have a question about Nov. 5th pretrial hearing. Do you think the prosecution/state is going to go ahead with the check fraud charges? I hope they still do, but I have a feeling they might not be a priority in light of murder and aggravated manslaughter charges.

I dont think that the DA can just drop the fraud charges since Amy and the Bank of America pressed charges.

That's a good point, thanks. I hope she is held accountable for every crime she has commited. I hope Z.G. gets her day in court soon too.

Does anyone know why JB would not have requested speedy trial for KC--I'm sure it can be filed any time but is there any reason he may wish to delay, or is he planning to simply file at arraignment?
