GUILTY UK - Anne Brown, 51, Ayrshire, Scotland, 18 Oct 2008

correction: i should have said that they went missing ABOUT a week ago...

Based on the article, it sounds like they should be looking pretty close at the 21 yer old daughter. Seems odd that the baby was found with the mother, but Grandma still missing.

yes, it's all rather odd to me. they aren't sure exactly when they went missing because last night on Reporting Scotland (BBC news for Scotland), they said that the grandmother was known to keep to herself & that it wasn't unusual for her to let a few days lapse without being in contact with anyone. i'll definitely have a look at some other Scottish news sources & see what they say.

I was just in Ayrshire in April attending a wedding at Turnberry. It is such a beautiful part of the country. My boss grew up there. I hope it doesn't turn out to be the daughter of this poor woman.

Hi, Lorraining--it really is pretty! I'm over in Midlothian. I found an article yesterday, but it's from the Daily Record, which is pretty much a scandal sheet. In it, the daughter claims she knows who did it, that there was a feud with another family. But then other neighbours have supposedly come forward to say that the woman was a neighbour from hell! also another article from Glasgow Evening Times mentioning a threatening remark on the daughter's Bebo site...hmmmmmmmm.

From September 2009:

A woman convicted of killing her 51-year-old mother and dumping her body in a burn in Ayrshire has been ordered to serve at least 20 years in prison.

At the High Court in Glasgow, Lisa Brown, 21, was jailed for life for murdering Anne Brown, whose body was found in Clerkland Burn, last October.

Her boyfriend, John Wilson, 25, was jailed for 12 years after being found guilty of culpable homicide.
