I just Googled child prostitute bust and found over 195 articles on this bust, all recent.
It looks like the media has just become aware of the busts.
I have wondered for a good while if there wasn't child prost. rings out there. So many kids go missing, never found not even a body. It stands to reason that some are alive, and it is all too easy for their captors to say the kids were runaways or relatives or whatever and keep them alive. I have a feeling this is only the tip of the iceburg. I know a couple of years ago there was also a prostitution bust and they rescued 3 or 4 kids that had been declared missing.
The FBI has arrested more than 600 people and rescued 47 children in what is being called Operation Cross Country 2, which focused on putting the people who force children into prostitution behind bars.

More than 600 adults have been arrested and 47 children rescued in a three-day roundup targeting people who force children into prostitution.
The FBI said the roundup by federal, state and local law enforcement occurred in 29 cities, adding that the raids dismantled 12 large-scale prostitution operations run through call services, truck stops, casinos and Web sites.
At a news conference announcing the results of Operation Cross Country II, FBI Deputy Director John Pistole said the arrests were made possible by intelligence gathered during a similar series of raids in June.

Oh wow, this is huge! I'm very happy that these kids were found and can return home. I have to wonder how long this has been going on, and how many of the adults arrested may have also been forced into this ring as children. PLEASE don't think I'm trying to make excuses for the adults, I'm just wondering if any of them may have been reported missing at some time in their lives. You won't cry for my absence, I know -
You forgot me long ago. Am I that unimportant...?
Am I so insignificant...? Isn't something missing?
Isn't someone missing me?

These poor kids. I hope they get everyone that's involved. I'm sure this goes on to greater extent than we are aware of and who knows how many of the UIDs that we see are the result of these types of crimes. God bless those kids and I hope they get some help-they will need it.

The end of our evening news segment reported that several of the children have indeed been reported missing by NCMEC. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081027/...prostitution_3
"The 47 rescued children ranged in age from 13 to 17, and all but one are female. Of these, Pistole said, 10 had been reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. A total of 642 people were arrested. The FBI says they include 73 pimps and 518 adult prostitutes."
I am so thrilled to hear that they may be reunited with their families!!! AMEN! :Banane44:

I can't bear to read any of the articles, I'm just grateful to read everyone's posts that the children have been saved and many people arrested. It sickens me that child prostitution/trafficking occurs ANYWHERE in the world. The thought of all the innocence lost, the abuse that they've endured is just heartbreaking.
I pray they receive therapy, are able to be reunited with their families, and can some day find peace and love.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I sincerely hope these children will receive the counseling and love they need to heal and resume at least somewhat normal lives.

I know that we will probably never know but I would like to know who the kids are that were listed as missing that have been found. We have probably talked about some of the kids. I would just like to know who has been found...not any details about what happened to them, etc.
