John Lansing age 75 of New York City former Mayor of Albany and former New York Member of Constitutional Convention-went out of his Hotel on the evening of December 12,1829 to post a letter on a new York Dock and vanished. It is speculated he may have drowned-possibly accidentally or prehaps murdered.
