GUILTY CA - Rebekah Butterfield, 21, found in dad's freezer, San Clemente, 25 Dec 2006

Ewwww. I hope Rebekah saw a dentist so they can compare her dental records to the body.

So he just drove around in the RV with his daughter's rotting corpse in the freezer? and didn't mind the smell? What a wackjob!

Anymore news on this case? Just wondering... it sounded like the corpse begun to rot when the electricity to the RV was shut off.

So sad...

Clarence Butterfield, accused of murdering his daughter and keeping her body in a freezer in a recreational vehicle in San Clemente, was brought back to Orange County from Las Vegas on Tuesday, prosecutors said.

Butterfield, 55, is expected to be arraigned Thursday on one felony count of special circumstances murder with torture and two felony counts of assault with a firearm. The charges make him eligible for the death penalty, the Orange County District Attorney's Office said.

So glad this is finally going to get what is coming to him!

I wouldn't be surprised if allot of 'missing ' people were hidden this way.............

Yes I agree, and it is so scary to think about passionflower. I pray that God blesses the family with some peace when this is all done. So terribly sad.

They just now got an indictment? I wonder what the holdup was?

Oh how terrible. she stayed with her dad cause she trusted him to do right and this is how he repaid her faith? sick.

still looking for more info on why indictment took so long -- but here's more news

<snip>

Butterfield was already in custody, having been charged in a criminal complaint last year. The indictment means prosecutors can skip a preliminary hearing in the case and move on to trial.

Butterfield, 55, is expected to be arraigned Dec. 15 on one felony count of special circumstances murder during the commission of torture and mayhem one felony count of assault with a firearm. The charges make him eligible for the death penalty, the Orange County District Attorney's Office said.

can't find any news on his arraignment either.

I couldn't find anything on this case past the indictment. :waitasec:

I'll see if I can dig up anything, but CA records are pretty tight. As an aside, how in the world could he get a 5-foot freezer into a motor home that size? Do they come with those built in? I don't know much about motor homes.

Clarence Butterfield is scheduled for jury trial on 8/16/2010 at 8:30 a.m. The prosecutor is Ebrahim Baytieh.

I just looked this case up after watching Lockup on MSNBC. Butterfield was one of the inmates featured.

Creepy.
