Does anyone in this forum have means to high school annuals from South High School, Knoxville TN. The problem being is I am not sure of the years.
I would guess the 60's even late 50's. I know of a girl that was "missing" by her parents. Her parents were elderly by the time I met them in 1993 but they told me of the story of their daughter. She was their only child.
They are both dead now (the parents). I have always wondered if she is one of our "unidentified"
They thought that she ran off with her b/f so I am not sure she was ever reported missing. We all know that the technology was not like it is today = no internet and such. If anyone has access, I can reveal her last name, I don't remember her first name. And to the moderators, would that be fine to reveal, since her parents are dead and all other relitives that I know they had living in Iowa or somewhere like that?

Sure, post her last name. Then we can see if we can come up with something....may not be easy, but we'll try.

One of the problems is that South High School merged with Young High School back in 1976. Then South-Young High School apparently merged with Doyle High School and then became South-Doyle High School.

Sometimes high schools and colleges post archived yearbooks online through the media center or library but I can't find anything at all. Perhaps you could write to the school...

I found only a 1956 yearbook for South High School online using Google.

Yes, posting the last name might help a great deal! :)

if you can remember the first and last name, like someone suggested, post it on here, there will be lots of us willing to do some sleuthing and see what we come up with. I haven't tried but will www.classmates.com be of any help that far back?

all of the above links are for south high school in knoxville tennessee. the link in the post previous to this post has other listed area schools in knoxville tennessee. the above links only have names with no pictures. good luck on finding a class album. you might try putting an add in the local browser magizines to ask ppl if they might have one?

Well, she is not on the list for 1956, in any of the classes, if she got her picture taken. Her last name is Wisely (many incorrectly spell it Wiseley)

can you remember what the first name might have been? and she would be about how old? 40ish?

Maybe the parents names would help. Since they are deceased, I would think it would be OK for us to post and sleuth. We are only trying to help. That may lead us to another child which may be aunt or uncle, or someone related that may know more information? Thoughts?

What about obits for the parents? Generally an obit holds some pretty good clues.

Good work guys!!!! Okay, now we have a name and church. Someone at the church might remember them? And also might know if there are any relatives or if there is more to the story about the daughter. Such as, if she ever came home or contacted her mother before she passed? If the boyfriend's name was ever stated? Etc.
